My first TLS tutorial! Soon, I will try to make tutorials involving TLS like cupcakes and cake slices XD
What I mean by sessions:
I make all my TLS mix for a whole batch or more of my clay charms. Since I have school work and such, I don't have as much time to make all my charms. So I split it into sessions and make them all at once, then bake them all. I use my wax paper as a sort of an artist palette. I separate the TLS mix by color, if I have strawberry frosting, white frosting, chocolate frosting, etc. If I ever need the bowl, I can still use it without cleaning it out of unused TLS mix, b/c they will be on my handy wax paper palette (:

It's translucent liquid sculpey, it's basically liquid clay ^^ I think some other brands like fimo has liquid clay too

Hm, you mention chalk pastels.. do you think that colour pencil lead could work as a substitute? I'm not sure if it would react wierdly to the heat of the oven though

hmm i never tried it XD but if you use stuff like crayola, i doubt itll do much damage since it's made for kids(but then again kids dont bake their colored pencils

hey, ive been looking for an answer to this question for a long time and i cant find it anywhere!when you make polymer clay whipped cream and apply it to your phone case etc. you have to bake it for it to harden right?but can you bake the case?:S and btw do you have any tips on how to keep the clay from char-ing? because i do not own an oven i use a toaster instead and my creations tend to turn colour ):

I also use a toaster oven ^^ I had the same problem, but it's based on experience and which oven you have. Basically just start out small first, dont set the timer to like 10 minutes in case it burns. Start at a few mins and watch your clay charms. Maybe your charms will start to change color around 8 mins, but are ready near 4. So next time set the timer around there. Or, you can use a hair dryer or a heat gun, both of those work. As for the cases, if they cases are plastic, i don't think its safe to bake XD I think plastic melts with heat. you can take measurements of the case or covers and decide where you want to put the clay stuff on, and then bake it and super glue it on afterwards

Translucent Liquid Sculpey. I think I mention it in the tutorial XD In case it's not clear, its basically liquid clay, it comes out liquid, but wen you bake it, it becomes solid. Liquid clay is translucent so wen you bake it, it's almost clear. People use it for special effects like frosting, or water like textures. If you don't use Sculpey clay, you can always get liquid clay from Fimo. I believe they make liquid clay, altho I prefer Sculpey XD Hope this helps!

clay softener, from what i've learned just softens your clay. Liquid clay is different. Liquid clay is basically liquid and wen you bake it, it's hard. Its just clay in liquid form XD So, if you would want to make, let's say, a waterfall sculpture out of clay, you would use regular clay for the rocks and like the water part out of liquid clay XD Ppl also use it for like embossing necklaces they make and stuff

Huh. I actually used it. It gives the same effect as icing except chunkier and makes it runnier. D: 3 dollars waaaiiisted. But hey, mistakes are learning, right? Thank you very much! So could I get this TLS or liquid clay at Hobby Lobby? And is it really expensive? D:

TLS is translucent liquis sculpey XD I think i explained it in my tutorial, but in case i didnt, You can use it to imitate frosting on your charms, so if youre making cupcake charms you can use it

Seems like I use TOO much TLS for frosting. No wonder I never get the results I want.

No problem! my frostings are usually not that runny or sticky so I can actually "spread" it on my cupcakes and cakes. I'm rly glad you liked it!

By the way, have you ever tried pipping frosting with this consistency? As I told you, I make it too runny, so I got awful results with pipping... the frosting kept running and all the details got lost, leaving me with a very nasty blob.
