It's a busy day for Jessie Bannon, Sam Manson, and Gwen Tennyson to clean up the refrigerator, but they have to wear masks because of the foul smell of rotten food.Art:

In the experiment, normally all dummies are placed in all directions, but after the fridge blows, the front & back dummies have been decimated while the sides remain intact. Then, we all have a great laugh inside the bunker.

Didn't see that episode, but manhole covers are way to heavy to get blown out of their holes- prevents theft. Of course, why anyone would want to steal a manhole cover is beyond me. lol

It maybe heavy, but by a methane explosion, yes you can, myth did confirmed. I saw like that was skeptical because it's movie physics, but it does apply in reality as well.

Well, I guess enough explosive and you can blow up a planet, so blowing a manhole off a cover should be easily feasible by comparison. Actually doing it would be a bit more difficult, I would think. I mean, you said they did, it just must have been difficult, though. How many tries did they do? Or do you remember?

In full scale, only 1, they go for best case scenario in worrying of doing that kind of attempt incrementally may ruin the test and being a one-shot, so they go all the way with closed system and blockages.

Well then obviously it would work like that! That's the equivalent of shooting a cork out of a soda bottle by shaking it up.

I'm not so sure if this works, I remember to get a cork out via :
1. Soda bottle, aggressive shaking does not lead to exploding the cork out unless you open the cork manually, or the cap. And better yet the Mentos.
2. Heat it up, if the bottle is glass and inside are wine.

BTW, I saw the wine bottle episode. Cool, but I gotta say - such a waste. I hope they used the cheep stuff. XD

They always use cheap wines, they did the same for the smashing the head with an empty bottle myth. But of course movie says empty bottle is more deadly than the full, but in real life, it's the reverse. I know why, because liquid "comforts" the pain and the shrapnel glass will be thrown away from damaging you, thanks to the liquid itself. But it's all stupid anyway, full bottles are always more deadly, no matter what.

Actually... according to an episode of MythBusters *I* saw, full bottles don't even shatter - the not-easily compressed liquid absorbs/conducts the energy of the force of the impact - allowing the force to pass right through the bottle, so the bottle remains intact. An empty bottle, however, will shatter since there's nothing but easily compressed air inside.

Err... what episode was that? They did it by hand, but does not break at the football helmet, but when bare dummy head, it shatters, both full & empty. The one I talk about is from the "Bottle Bash" experiment, and it's busted, full bottle is more devastating than empty. But either way, it's totally dangerous. Glass made from sugar glass break easily only meant for movies and meant to be less dangerous, but in real life, it's really tough and obviously dangerous, a drunk person can get arrested if someone uses a bottle as a weapon.
I don't know 100% science since I studied commerce back in high school, so I cannot always be sure on energy transfer.
