Drawing 150--Description-
Transformers G1 - Protectobot
My character study on the Autobot gestalt "Defensor". Here you can see a front, back, and side views of the character.

I'm very glad to get this gestalt done with the results as I wanted to draw the details more accurately for Defensor and drawing a finalized picture of Defensor is a pleasure.
This is my final character study for the Protectobots! and all for me to share with you fans.

Yeah I think so too, toy wise they had so much play ability, for rescue vehicles they had cool weapon accessories!

My favorite part of Defensor's design is the tiny little mudflap for Groove's rear motorcycle wheel.

Hehe very nice and it is mine too! It seemed more creative to make him the right leg but if you do like Japanese Scramble City style then that works too!

Very awesome. The pose is simple but needed to do a good study for him and also for anyone else who has questions on how he looks and all. I use the Ark book so much it might as well be a Bible due to how the poses show how the character looks easily.

I thought it was time to make a solid Defensor reference for me and for the fans it was really satisfying to come out with the final results.
I agree "Transformers - The Ark" book was a brilliant source for references to get Defensor and the Protectobot members done.

I think your studies of them all really gives an extra to the references in the Ark. The Ark is good but something about these guys just make it hard. Can't say what. But yours makes it look simpler and easier as well as giving all views of each one. I had to copy them off at work so I can study each one better. Hopefully your studies will help me produce the ideas in my head of playing doctor to "You have the right to remain sexy" scenerios.

That is a really good way to put it I found myself finding references but they all weren't solid accurate references thus I practice and studied hard to draw in the missing pieces that weren't all there for the characters.
I'm very pleased to hear it gives you a chance to see them in a more accurate and simple way that was exactly the results I wanted when finishing them all so it wouldn't be difficult to find references for them.
I certainly hope they can help you in any way it will make me very satisfied to hear.

Yeah personally for me it's sometimes difficult to find certain G1 character references pictures that includes the Protectobots!
I plan to draw each Protectobot member's vehicle modes later on and maybe I'll choose to do another time of character studies of a different sub-group.
