How could a gondola ride on smooth flowing, clear waters, in pleasant soft glow of lanterns dangling on the bow and the stern, not be romantic?
Maybe if it's on the foreboding underground river Sargauth and the gondolier is a spooky scary skeleton who bothers the heck out of Betheniel, our Moon Elf grave domain cleric.
And especially not when the Fighter and the Paladin sharing a tight bench would absolutely, definitely, positively rather not be shipped. They're just here to kill things!
