maybe because it reminds me to weird form of muscles ...when i saw it i think in some new form of being which can have that muscle form under the skin...

oh yeah, prismacolor has good pigments. I also have a brown woodless pencil, I think it's koh-i-noor, they make lots of stuff.

Interesting movement in this piece.
I see fish fins with bone ridges, but done in a very lovely abstraction of fishes. I donβt quite know why this speaks to me the way it does.

The colour and pattern remind me of muscle and sinew... like it came from an imaginary creature or was something meant to move. Maybe the picture is walking around when you're not looking?

are you viewing your research on monitor or you are looking directly on microscope?....i wish my stuff to be a caress for your sight/eyeballs.......

Both. The microscope has a video camera, computer and capture/analysis/adjustment software attached to it, so I control the microscope digitally and capture all the images on computer. But before i do so, i also do it the old fashioned way and *look* down the eyepiece and see what my samples actually look like to my eye... because really you use a computer to make nothing look like something if you want to... it is important to 'see first and think later' when it comes to science, as Douglas Adams said

definitely you're using kind of adjustment as sight/eye friendly...for a scientist, the sight is the most precious thing, or "tool" ...beyond organic, are you considering using some of images in art?...neuroscience is not on the main stream of artists way, i think could be interesting to mix these two activities, if no moral infringements occurs...

Yes i would like to use some of the images as art but have to be aware of the ethical/institutional/IP constraints on using my samples. But i have found one neuroblastoma cell line which it appears i can use without restriction and there is a photo of fluorescent staining of it and some manipulations in my 'Photo' folder. At the moment i am making some colour pencil drawings and am making one more extensive graphite drawing which is a portrait of human brain astrocyte cells.
