Description I found this image on a magazine. Thought the lights were cool and went for it. I made this illustration with colored pencils on Canson Paper.

me gusta, el unico detalle seria que la cara ha perdido su aire de raza afro

Lo mismo pense del modelo, pero creo que pude haber acentuado mas la etnicidad. Gracias por el comentario.

I used prismacolor colored pencils. I started off with the color terracotta, working my way through light umber, dark umber, yellow ochre and a little black for very dark details. If I remember correctly. I maybe missing a couple of colors but I use a color over color to blend and "mix" the colors to get the tone. Imagine one color per layer. The paper and the colors do the rest.

This is wonderful stuff. The contrasty highlights seem just right to me, with the long vein on his left arm being the only exception. I really like the tight-yet-expressive expression on his face. Nice work there. The head split on the right delt is a bit too dark on my screen, but it might just be an artifact of the scanner or my monitor. Final thought: the paper stock you chose really works in your favor on this, to give a sense of roughness and skin that seems suitable for the subject. Really gotta give you kudos, overall!
