If they ever did a movie based on the game, it probably wouldn't be very good. And if you wait long enough they might just make a remake of the games like with Spyro, Crash or even Secret of Mana.

Yeah, lots os sequels, reboots and spiritual successors. And some pretty big names and classics, too. Secret of Mana, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot. Wouldn't mind if they did a Banjo-Kazooie remake tbh.

I am talking about real games, not cameos or guest appearances in other games. Having Banjo Kazooie in Smash Bros. or Spyro in Skylanders is ok, but it is not as good as a real game all about them.

Wasn't that animated? Haven't watched that one and I don't have an opinion on it. So far, I think the best movie about video games is wreck it ralph. They did their own thing and included some game references. And that is pretty smart, because it is hard to satisfy gamers. They get mad when you change things and will also get mad if you just copy the game and don't change anything. Plus the movies always lack a pretty important part of the games: the gameplay.

Yes, that is true. Maybe because they mostly do movies about games that have very little plot/story behind them. Mario, Assasin's creed, doom (the original hame from the 90s) and a lot of fighting games are way more better at fun gameplay than they are at story telling. Warcraft had the opposite problem: Way too much story to tell all of it in one movie. They should have tried a tv show instead, like their own version of game of thrones.

Dragon Ball Z and TMNT are not video game movies. DB evolution is an anime movie and tmnt is based on cartoons and comics. But most movies based on animes aren't good either.

Dunno. I haven't watched any of them. But from what I heard from other people and reviews on youtube the Spnic movies seems to more popular. But honestly, I think making a fully animated movie would work way better for Mario or Sonic rather than doing it (mostly) in live action.

It's not chinese companies. American companies are mostly the same. Bethesda is still selling Skyrim after more than ten years instead of making a new elder scrolls games for example. It's not about what games are good/fun, it's all about finding ways to make the most money out of people with as little effort as possible.

I am pretty sure epic games started fortnite and tencent just hopped on board once it got popular and made lots of money.
