Hhhh... I'm a big fan of Batman Beyond (and Batman prime too, for that matter) but I can't say I like what Beechen has done with the series. He's negated basically all the character development Terry had throughout the television show. And some of the things in the new comics reeeeeeeally don't make sense.

Of course, some of the new comics are very well done all the same, and this is a pretty darn cool picture.

Well just from what I've seen and talking to the man, he has the utmost respect for every character he works on. But I really wasn't looking for commentary on creators.

Thank you for the kind words.

Understandable, and sorry for derailing. But I would suggest watching the original show, if you haven't seen it yet - it's very, very well done.

You're welcome!

I've seen quite a few of them, but I also tend to lean to stories being stories (like movies) Most people I know really like the books he's done. I don't think they'd keep him on if he wasn't doing a good job with it.

That's your opinion and that's fine. I really don't like him, given that he effectively ruined Cassandra Cain/Batgirl 2's character (honestly she still hasn't recovered from what he did to her), and is currently writing a Batman Beyond where every other character is bizarrely out of character really often, where the dynamic between Bruce and Terry and the entire point of their relationship has radically changed, where Terry has lost 3 seasons and one movie's worth of character development and effectively been reduced to the role of a sidekick to the 'real' Batman of Bruce (a role which he NEVER held, and especially not after Return of the Joker - when the new comics are supposedly set), which has broken the timeline so thoroughly as to cause multiple paradoxes within just the confines of Hush Beyond, and who is now clumsily trying to shoehorn the JLU into a title that they really have no business being in full time. I also really dislike how Dick is being handled in the new Batman Beyond, to say nothing of characters like Catwoman Beyond who have absolutely no reason even to exist, or what was done to Inque's character/motivations/physical self.

The new Batman Beyond comics have had their good points - heck, I own all of them - but some of the boneheaded moves like the Jokerz becoming a nation-wide gang rather than one confined to Gotham, of Terry and Bruce somehow thinking they can fool anyone into thinking that Dick isn't Nightwing if a new guy wearing the same costume shows up 40 years after the first one retired, the freakin Bat robots, and the mysterious de-aging of Jared Tate and such a very through design change for Jim Tate/Armory that I honestly thought it was a different character before I went and doublechecked on the internet that there weren't any others by that name, leave a sour taste in my mouth. I love that Dana now has a brother - what I don't understand is why he wasn't treated as something that Terry already knew about.

Because there is only about 41 hours worth of material for every single episode of Batman Beyond ever aired, including the crossovers in series like Static Shock and JLU AND the movie, I do not find that I'm particularly forgiving of any creative team looking to 'revive' the series who quite obviously cannot even be bothered watching it (or even key episodes), or even looking up a design sheet for the characters they're trying to draw or write - Hush Beyond in particular read as though what had happened was someone at DC said "All right, we're doing Batman Beyond, where Bruce is old and he's got a new kid being Batman who is like Spider-man, only not. Right team, let's go!" Overall the comics did improve after Hush Beyond, but they've been very unsteady in terms of quality, and characterization all around has taken a major blow.

Well yes it's my opinion and I have it. And again...this is not an open forum for you to spout off about how "HE/SHE DID THIS AND IT WAS WRONG, OR THAT'S NOT CANNON...ETC" I didn't imply you were wrong for your opinion.
Some stories are just that, stories.
Thank you for your opinion, as I was not expecting or wanting it. I was simply trying to show a piece of art and an affection for a particular comic and creator I liked as just a comic and as a guy who I think of as a friend.
This is NOT really a line of dialogue I'd like to continue.
Many thanks and all the best
