#thesoundofsilencemovementI HOPED I COULD SLEEP AT LEAST TONIGHT BUT NOOO DA HAS TO RUIN EVEN MORE THIS HORRIBLE YEAR.
So, for people that don't know the DA's team decided to make Eclipse permanent and retire the old version of the website, you read it right Eclipse, the horrible version of the website that no one asked or use is going to cancel the old DA, the one who we fell in love and joined with the heart full of hope to find great people and have fun.
What can we do to stop this before it's too late?
First of all, firm this petition, we are enough to achieve the goal of 500 if not more!

I wish it could be so I agree eclipse is garbage complete and utter. I don't
think it can be saved and I honestly might just have to quit DA for the first
time in over 10 years of being on it. I honestly don't know how I am going
to build upon what I have already. It makes me angry and sad!!!

I think you are overly optimistic about them listening to feedback
you don't even get an email saying that they received the feedback,
so how can we know that anyone even reads it? But I think if millions
of users spam the feedback option maybe that'll get attention. IDK I
have already been using it I don't believe it's working, but I have been
using it none the less.
BTW that thing has been there for many months and before the
"the old site is going away announcement" so yeah I don't think they care.

IDK I hadn't noticed, but this year with eclipse I did notice because as I was
using the site the site glitched and was just on eclipse I was devastated for
about an hour while I thought my profile work was gone forever. Then the
button appeared to switch to old site no lie it wasn't there at first and I
clicked on it and voila, but yeah horrible jarring experience.
I hate Eclipse as it exists now for sure and I am going to think long and
hard about whether I am helping Artspacious
or
attempting to launch a startup of my own, or moving to other platforms, or
if I am gonna stay and see. IDK right now it's highly unlikely I will stay and
see (hoping that they get it right).

It's not about the color because color can be changed make the old DA pink for all I care,Β Eclipse is junk.Β They say you can't update or add new features to and old site and that is bullshit. I worked for a comapny that designed websites for 6 years and what they are telling us is false.

I think that's a great idea and a worthy protest but a more effective protest would be not to buy any subscriptions until they put back the switch that takes one back to the original.

I am Joining the Protest against EclipseTaken word-for-word from Ellygator since she said it so well. We've both been here fifteen years. The dA layout has seen a lot of changes since then, mostly for the better. But not this time. I find Eclipse barely usable.
Since we've been informed that the choice between the traditional DA interface and Eclipse will be taken away at the beginning of May and we are all forced to migrate I've decided to join the temporary boycott of DA at #TheSoundOfSilenceMovement
I believe the optical layout of a website where you showcase your art is of greater significance than for other sites. The traditional layout always struck me as minimalist and elegant allowing the art to be the feature in the foreground. This approach was similar to framing a painting: the painting is primary, the frame and matting reinforce and elevate, but do not overwhelm the a
