       It was late at the Mystery Shack, everyone was asleep and it had to be at 3 or 4 in the morning. Mabel was asleep curled up into a ball with her colorful comforter wrapped all around her. Dipper, was also asleep, until he was woken up by a painful feeling in his stomach. He figured it was probably the dinner they had, since their Grunkle Stan was so cheap that he would feed them anything as long as it was partially edible. Dipper ignored it and tried to go back to sleep, until a excruciating pain shot up his side, causing him to spring up and clutch his side.
"Augh!" He moaned. It felt like he was being stabbed. He looked over to see Mabel rustling around.
"Dipper? Are you okay?" She mumbled, not expecting an answer.
"Ugh! No!" He half shouted, scaring Mabel. She walked over carrying a stuffed bunny and sat on the side of his bed.
"Was it a nightmare? Gosh, you're so overdramatic ,Dipper…" Mabel rolled her eyes
"No Mabel! My side….. AH!" He shouted, scaring Mabel even more. She shot up and bolted out the attic door, running as fast as she could. Ripped open her great uncle's bedroom door and plopped right on top of him.
       "GRUNKLE STAN! WAKE UP!  DIPPER'S DYING! HE NEEDS MEDICAL ATTENTION!" Mabel screamed at the top of her lungs.
       "Ugh! Mabel get off of me! Just tell him to take some ibuprofen, he'll be fine…." He rolled over away from her.
       "No, Stan! He says his side hurts, and he was screaming! He screamed at me, he never screams at me unless it's really bad." She explained. That got him up. They started walking up to the attic door when they heard a thump and moaning. Grunkle Stan ran up the stairs, seeing Dipper laying on the ground, his whole body in a ball, holding on to his side.
        "I feel like I got stabbed! OH MY GOD!" He moaned. Grunkle Stan picked him up and ran to the car as fast as possible. Grunkle Stan had a pretty good idea what was wrong with him.

        "Yup, you have appendicitis, Dipper." The lady doctor said, pushing against his side. "Good thing you came when you did, it could have burst. You need emergency surgery right away."
"WHAT?!?!" Mabel screamed, running over to her brother. "No, nope, nope, nope, nope no surgery for you Dippy. You'll get some medicine, and it'll be all good!" Mabel exclaimed. The doctor was already gone, so Grunkle Stan had to explain himself.
"Mabel, he needs to surgery. It's very simple though! He'll be out by-"
"No! He won't! He just needs medicine…."
"Mabel…." Dipper mumbled, coming slightly out of his unconscious state. Grunkle Stan left the room, figuring they needed some alone time.
         "I know the last person we knew who went into surgery didn't make it. But I'll be fine, Grandpa was really sick. I am just….. a little sick." Dipper mumbled, normally he would be so irritated that he needed to talk to Mabel like a 5 year old. But she was so upset, he couldn't stand to see her like that. Dipper looked over at her and her hands were covering her face. Whimpering sounds were coming from behind them.
         "Aw, Mabel. Come here." He scooted over and let her sit right next to him. "I'll be fine. Don't worry, hey! I'll be out in time to see the next Ducktective!" At that moment Mabel grabbed him and gave him the tightest hug in the world. He hugged back, stifling back a few tears himself.
"Just so you know, there better be balloons when I get out!" Dipper joked.
         "You got it Dipping Sauce." She said, still sniffling. The doctor came in and started to roll him to the operating room.
        "I'll be fine, Mabel. Don't worry." He said before Mabel kissed his cheek and he rolled out the huge metal doors.

        The surgery was supposed to take an hour. But to Mabel, it felt like days.
      "Hey, gremlin. Want some food? There's a vending machine over there." She shook her head, looking at the ground. Grunkle Stan put his arm around her, grabbing her chin and pointing her head at him.
      "Would Dipper want you to be sad and scared? No he wouldn't. He'll be out soon." The doctor walked in and told them that Dipper was okay and was laying in the other room waiting for them. Before she was even done her sentence, Mabel got up and ran as fast as her 12 year old legs could run.
"DIPPER!!!!!" She screamed running to give him the biggest hug ever.
      "You were right! You are okay! You just need to heal! Oh my gosh, I was so scared, but you're okay, oh my gosh…" She kept rambling on as Dipper sat in silence, letting her finish her rambling.
     "I told you I would be fine, you need to listen to me more," He joked around.
     "Sooo.." He said. "Where's my balloon?" He said with a joking smile on his face. Mabel was not good at sarcasm, so she got up and ran out the doors. Oh Mabel he though How I have missed you.
