Description
So for those of you who haven't yet played "Other M," here's what happened:Samus encounters a small creature, then she encounters a bigger creature that tries to stick a knife in her face, which happens to have evolved from the smaller creature, and then she finds out that it turns out to be Ridley's clone, because he just can't stay fucking dead.
I just couldn't get over the fact that this reminded me of PokΓ©mon.

Oh come on, you should have been expecting it when you saw that cute fuzzy thing the first time. My first thought was...... Oh Crud, that thing has to be a monster. When you're swearing and aggressive about it, then it's hard not to take seriously because evidently you're angry about it.

It is a joke poking fun at the fact of the how major the changes are, the number of changes, and the fact both Metroid and Pokemon are Nintendo properties, which results in an easy comparison. Β It wouldn't matter if the joke came from Other M or Super Metroid.
Every Pokemon game has like one or two butterfly pokemon and the series has one or to frog based pokemon because of tadpole->frog and caterpillar->cocoon->butterfly metamorphic life cycles.

I liked fluffy Ridley he was adorable till he split open like a the thing and spewed out the scorpion bird lizard, then when u saw that split open ur just like... Fuck a space duck

Samus has fought Ridley several times over without fear. But in Other M, he caught her by surprise somehow, persumably because he was ultimatly thought to have been destroyed along with Zebes adding to how she encountered him the first time, overloading her with the most traumatic memories of him. Plus, he initally looked so innocent, not bearing the slightest resemblence to him. Although I knew him in his infant form looking at Samus like "You may not realize it, but you're in for a world of suffering." had to be foreshadowing somehow.

From being rebuilt as a cyborg to having his DNA and memories copied by the X. What next, using an extraterrestrial spiritual force to resurrect himself and gain supernatural powers like Andross in StarFox Adventures? It just comes to show that Ridley almost always finds a way to come back.

The evolution thing isn't a problem, it's been there since Metroid II with the evolution of metroids. But, this is a three phasis evolution :
- Little and cute
- Average and unsightly
- Big and badass
This is a typical pokemon-typed evolution. And, one thing thay didn't seemed to realise in Other M... Ridley ISN'T a f*cking dragon !
