Merikan Autogun - 40K — Description

And now for the biggest part of Merikan culture: high-class weaponry. You all know I have a soft spot for autoguns, so I made a new design for one. This is essencially me cobling together as many gun parts as possible just to see what fits. Notably, we have the R91 Assault Rifle as a base, with elements taken from the standard Agrippina Pattern Autogun, as well as obviously the M4 Carbine.

You may also notice that this gun uses 5.56, instead of the standard 7.62 most autoguns use. The reason for this, aside from my NATO biases, is that it's a more accurate caliber, which is better for a gun decended from the DAoT, since most of them were more like T'au weaponry.

Edit: Those three black dots above the trigger were just an error. They have been removed, please do not think about them.

Edit 2: Weapon no longer fires caseless rounds. Didn't make much sense for it to use those and also have a cartridge ejector. An issue with all Autoguns, but one I decided to fix nonetheless. Also added a 5.56 round for scale.

Edit 3: Realized that I accedentally kept over the rate of fire of a different weapon I designed. Fixed it.

Edit 4: Gun was too wide.

Edit 5: Redesigned the barrel to be more accurate. Changed the magazine to actually hold 30 rounds.

Edit 6: Completely redesigned the weapon from the ground up. Removed 3 round burst, slightly redesigned the carrying handle, replaced the extending stock with a fixed stock, made the barrel much longer, and changed the profile of the grip to make it more streamlined.

Edit 7: Changed the name, added a Semi-Automatic fire mode, redesigned the stock, pistol grip, trigger, bolt, and barrel.

Edit 8: Added grooves to the barrel.
