Protective — Description
The birth had been long and painful, but luckily both Nightsky and her kits were fine. It had taken forever for the kits to come, but Bearheart had stayed with her in the nursery all day and well into the night, not daring to leave her side in case something went wrong. Finally, the medicine cat left them for the night and promised to come and check on the little family in the morning.
The camp was already asleep, when the new parents got some time with their kits at last.

"You did so well", he licked her forehead affectionately, "and they´re absolutely beautiful" "They´re more than that. They´re perfect" she purred as the little she-cat yawned. The tom was fast asleep, cuddled close to her belly. "I can hardly believe they´re real" she whispered. Bearheart could tell that she was falling asleep, exhausted from the birth. He curled up around her and his kits as she fell asleep and softly promised himself that he would do anything for his family. They would never be harmed if he could help it.
