Xu Rong Goes Hunting — Description
The warlord Dong Zhuo has many men of calibre under his command. Men most others fear to cross. When asked who is the most feared, most assume it to be Lu Bu.
But there is one even Lu Bu's legend cannot match.
Xu Rong. The Wraith.
Xu Rong was once the personal bodyguard of Duan Jiong, the Grand Vanquisher of the Barbarians. But when home on leave, he found his wife dying and would not leave her side. The doctors ordered his wife to be shrouded and bandaged at all times but in her last moments, they kissed.
And Xu Rong knew that he would follow in the same way.
The disease was leprosy, life rotting away.
But Xu Rong promises that he will die in battle.
When Duan Jiong refused to take such a diseased man back into his entourage, Dong Zhuo observed Xu Rong's still very devastating skills in battle and took him on as his Hunter-General.
Since then, Xu Rong has been largely responsible for leading the charge into every barbarian and bandit raid Dong Zhuo was sent to quell and, after Cao Cao's less-than-successful assassination attempt upon his master, is sent into Yan to seek him out, crossing the blades of Cao Cao and Chen Gong, sent to aid Cao Cao by Zhang Miao, bringing forth his demolishing flail that drags up the very earth and shatters bone with but a brush.
Xu Rong is dying.
But he does tend to outlive many of the men he faces.
