First off, tons of love to *rplatt of course, for a fabulous commission. I can only apologize that it's taken me so long to get it coloured. First one thing, then another - and then the most detrimental of all - changing styles!!
In truth, if I had a larger hard drive, there'd probably be able 4 versions of this picture to post up. I'd get so far along, and then the next three aspects I'd worked on would be so much better than what I'd done already.
And, yes, I changed a few little details here and there, and I hope Russ'll forgive me. In truth, I didn't really notice the changes I was making until I went back and checked with the original.
But I am happy with it. Will I colour it again? Very yes. I'd like to hope this is a piece I'll come back to again and again as I continue to improve. And no, folks, this isn't what I look like, merely the OC I named my account here after. If anything, consider this an RSI-me.
I promised to get her up before my birthday. And by a couple of hours, I'm just barely managing to. Tomorrow I'll get around to sending messages to the people who've favourited the WIP and stuff.

This is a lovely recolouring. The method you used on Gypsy's hair is nice...
And on a side-note, that tattoo you added. Is there any particular reason you made it look so much like the Heartless Emblem from Kingdom Hearts?

As far as the piece goes, she is gorgeous. The work you put into her really shows. Like everyone else, I love the veil and the hair. Strangely enough though, I'd be interested in seeing a traditional coloring of this one for comparison. I know Dietrich's working on one, so I suppose I'll have to wait until he gets done.
Again, great work here! The addition of the Heartless tattoo is a nice touch.

You know, she was going to be a traditional colour job. She started off as one. And if I had a larger hard drive (or hadn't just had 120GB of external go pfft on me) I'd have one of those, too.
Perhaps one of these days I shall, and yes, I know Dietrich's working on a variant or two. I gave him a few of the other tattoos I consider for her to play around with. Once he get's his up, we'll see which looks better - the heartless logo or the heartagram.

Not a custom brush, but I was working off of a tutorial that told how to make brushes. It was outdated, for PS7, but since that's what I use...I wound up not liking what I got following the tutorial, but wound up with a few brushes that are kinda like smudge brushes - a lot of little spaces instead of one big one...
And then I promised myself I wasn't going anywhere for a few hours. No joke. I can't say I did every strand individually, I started with a solid base and then burned/dodged like mad, but there were so many times when I didn't like the way the last 2 (to 20) strokes had come out, and I'd go back and start that area over.
I was saving more often than a video game!

In the last pass of improvements, the mountains were the first thing I did. So, I suppose it makes sense that by the end, they might seem a bit drab. Hrm. I'm certainly glad to know I left myself SOMETHING to work on!!
The tat isn't the piece I was originally planning on going with, and as such there is some guesswork going on there. I'll tinker a bit, and see what I can come up with.
