Description
So I ran-trip-step-hopped in your wake, someParasite child on the stairwell,
Who fed and swelled and grew with your
Castoff conversations, knowledge like second skins
Only knowing at my age that
You and your nineties music would dominate for generations to come
So how did you do it, emenating
This unpolished and roughly glorious ease in
Treetops, classrooms and
Peoples' hearts
Beautiful isn't right, nor
Hyper or vibrant, they fall flat
And slink away with shame at the innability
To capture you, frame you in the
Human tongue
We wish to live with dog eyes in dog years and
You speak the dog tongue, this
Glorious
Wonderful
Appreciation that beats from your chest and
Throbs in your temples, throat, and the insides of
Forearms that pull you up tree branches to watch the world from
Some place I cannot see
Everything sparkles like light off the ocean, through the trees, just like
Your eyes
Through our blood we lose the anxiety
Over lost memories, lost connections and lost friendships
And I relievedly sigh, for
In truth, we hold our breath for the ones we meet
And only ever inhale
When the anchor of relation keeps us fastened tight
But we listen, listen, listen
Until voices are familiar in person
On the phone
In the wind
It'll never do, this
Unwillingness to forget
Because since birth, your voice was already
There
When we walk, we leave trails of
Atmosphere, that which touches us and carries our
Scent down the block, to brushes peoples' faces like
Fingertips
Yours is an inconsistancy, this hearty, jovial
Femininity
That dances and lingers until people turn
To find the source of such an aftermath
Only to see your heel atΒ Β the corner
So as I lunge-skip-jump-run
I'm only trying to catch you before your shoes wink goodbye
To say
Thank you
[though really, it's more than that]
For being
For breathing
For weaving
So many of the intricate threads
In my personal loom
As only the best sister could

Did you give it to her?
It is very sweet and makes me wish for an older sibling.
