Description
“There had to be rain on the forecast, because Grillby was grilling fish for dinner.”Inktober Day 23
In perniciousLizard ’s Undertale series Fired Up and Bone Weary , Grillby petulantly 'vengefully' cooks fish when the weather is wet.
I don’t know about the rest of you, but I found the mental image pretty funny. So I decided to illustrate it for one of my Inktober pieces.
I didn't try to set up the perspective properly or anything, and I think it kinda shows here and there. But otherwise, I'm pretty happy with how this came out! Ballpoint pen on paper, done on top of a loose pencil sketch.

It warps a little bit but the perspective is pretty damn great! Also I just love how many shades you've managed to get using just a pen. There's nothing that's unclear or blurs into something else, which impresses me.
I don't really get why grilling fish is vengeful or petulant in any way, though.
(PS. Love how Grillby just holds the fish to grill it. I never thought about that. Why would he even bother with a stove haha)

Yeah, I didn't use a straight edge for most of this, some of my lines drifted. Glad it looks fairly solid overall though, thanks!
Ah, it's not super direct or logical or anything. But he can't do anything about the rain, and it's not like he's going to want to do much with water itself, so. Fish are serving as the stand-in for all things wet, and are getting rightfully fried.
Ahh, maybe some of my lines and objects did run into each other a little bit after all. This is a case where I should have been more careful about where I placed things, probably. He's just flipping the fish with a spatula, it's in midair. I kinda like your idea though!

Pfft straight edges are for the weak.
Hahaha I see. That's a good way to look at it. xD Poor fishies, they did notin' wrong
Oh right. I see it now. Dunno how I managed to miss the spatula completely. But hey, I still have a point - he should just hold the fish and it'll be grilled. Saves on the power bill too.
