I really like the atmosphere and amount of details. It brings nice memories, even if they are located on the South-West of France (which can look like that too).

I use reference for composition and working out light and dark areas--but it's REALLY loose. Often a photo will just work as inspiration. With this, I put the reference away as soon as I had a rough sketch. Inking is more fun when you're free!

Sable brush is appropriate to draw an oceanic view.
Mmm, I realize the pun is lost on English speaking people. In French, sable = sand.
