Description
Commander Rison looks like the poster boy for change at first glance, but nothing could be further from the truth. His change is physical only, as this deceitful, power hungry brute remains as ruthless and single minded as ever. His only goal throughout life has been acquiring more power for himself. He began this journey as a faceless soldier in The Salvatican Regular Army, trying to make a name for himself amongst thousands of others looking to climb the ranks as well. Using deceit and intimidation he managed to obtain the rank of Sgt. It was then he had the opportunity to work side by side with one of The Salvatican Undergrounds Hunters, a beautiful young idealist by the name of Violet. Rison saw Violet's Sagely abilities and mild naivety as nothing more than another stepping stone to furthering his goals, and seduced and deceived Violet into training him as a Sage. He would use his fledgling powers not in self defense as Violet ordered, but in assassination to remove obstacles to his promotion. He quickly rose to the rank of Officer, and set his sights on a Commander position. His downfall came when he grew too ambitious, and heard that General Lykos had personally intervened and barred his promotion, the wise General suspicious of Rison's rapid rise through the ranks.. A rise cratered by the downfall of his rivals. Seeking to make a name for himself, and remove the obstacle to his advancement, Rison challenged Lykos to a duel, believing Violets incomplete training would be more than enough to silence Lykos. Rison paid dearly for daring to underestimate Lykos's skill and power, and at the duel's conclusion, Lykos was down one eye, but Rison was moments from death. Despite his treachery and abandonment, Violet rushed to his aid when she heard that he had been bested by Lykos. Her powers, and the powers of all The Sages she knew wasn't enough to do anymore than keep Rison clinging to life, but a recently hired Professor Hojo heard of the duel, and tracked Rison and Violet down. Hojo promised he could save Rison's life if Violet turns him over. Having no other option, she agrees, but soon finds that it was in error, as Hojo vanishes with Rison. Violet spends the next years trying to track the professor down, and to obtain information on Rison's whereabouts, and while she does learn of The Death Corps, she has no idea of the creature Rison has become after Hojo infected him with one of The Death Corps Biological Parasites. Agama and The Professor were eager to use it on someone who had done battle with Lykos, but they had no idea the organism wouldn't work normally with a male host. Though Rison survived thanks to the infection, he's now permanently trapped in his creature form. While many would consider this a tragic end to a tragic quest for power, Rison is thrilled with the power his new form grants him, and wouldn't give it up for anything in the world.. Except of course, more power.Art By:

He was always a reptil or he was a mammalian in the past?

He was a wolf, he was almost killed in a duel with General Lykos. He volunteered to be a test subject for a bio parasiteΒ made from Tiamat's DNA, and that turned him into this 'dragonkin'

Actually, I'm not very familiar with Warhammer. I've only played the first 2 games, and The Tyranids aren't in them.

Nope, just Dawn of War, and Winter Assault. I have Dark Crusade on the way though.

I play the miniatures game...and am looking to get DOWII after I get my hands on Reach. But for now, until I get my hands on Reach, I'll make do with my up-and-coming Chaos Terminator Lord.

I was going to get DoW 2 but it's not really a RTS game, and that online only play thing put me off.

Which race do you favor so far in Warhammer 40k? For me, it's the Eldar...although Chaos Black Legion Space Marines and Blood Angels Chapter Space Marines seem like a good next prospect.

I'm only any good as The Eldar against the computer. I also like Phase Prisms. In Winter Assault Chaos seems broken with how quickly they can start putting out Chaos Predators. They're pretty weak offensively, but they take forever to kill unless you have like 3 or 4 squads of Fire Dragons, and then you get killed by their horrors and Khorne Berserkers. I can only beat Chaos when I warpgate rush support platforms into their base.

Actually, my favorite Eldar units are the wraithbone robots (Wraithguard and especially Wraithlord), the Striking Scorpions (they never appear in Dawn of War, but they exist, and are more versatile than the Banshees even if they favor chainswords over power swords), the Avatar of Kaela Mensha Khaine, and the psykers (both warlocks and farseers).
And in Dawn of War II, they give you a new relic monster: The Great Unclean One of Nurgle, and their Chaos Terminator Lord looks badass.

Kaela Mensha Khaine is fun, the Farseer is too, though you have to be careful with her because she's so frail.
I've seen the unclean one.. The name certainly seems to fit. Seems less satisfying than the Blood thirster.

Find the Forge World website...I tend to favor their miniatures when it comes to the relic units and titans. And the good thing is that they're still usable in the miniatures game.

Hmm, impressive final design, quite a monstrous form taken indeed. That shoulder head looks a little different this time around. I must admit, he looks a bit like Movie Megatron, especially with his head.
I also have a feeling that the rest of the Death Corp., those 5 females, have a similar form, they just don't always have to look like this.

You're correct there, the female operatives also have similar alternate forms, but they're able to change out of those and return to their original forms. They don't assume those forms in vol 1, so they won't be appearing here, but Kaijusamurai already designed them and will be adding them to his gallery as a special very far in advance preview.
