Dropping bombs on people is never humanitarian. Despite the strength of our military, people always seem suprised when people start shooting back. War is not a game. War costs lives. And anyone who cheers for it at any time should reconsider world history. But they're right about the B-25 thing, you should change it.

what ~bebopredux is TOTALLY right. lol i know its a simple mistake but maybe you should check the bomber designation. a B25... closest is a Su25 frogfoot, a small russian fighter which the Iraqi military probably owns a few of. As well as France and Germany selling Iraq things, think of the T80's and T72 tanks, not to mention the SCUDs, BMPs amongst other rifles and assorted militaria. All sold to Iraqy by russia, who doesnt want war because they want the money for those tanks etc. It becomes clear why those countries are opposed to war, doesnt it?

when we found out that saddam and his sons _might_ have been in some hotel in baghdad, we fly over and dropped a bunch of bombs on it. wow. what a brilliant use of tax payers money and civilians' lives. instead of surrounding the building and walking inside, we dropped bombs and destroyed the building, eveyone inside (saddam and/or others), and the surrounding blocks. all in a days work of freedom fighting.

If the U.S. doesn't have the "right" (much less the obligation) to liberate the Iraqi people, then the Allied forces didn't have the right, much less the obligation, to liberate Europe during World War II, or Kuwait in the Gulf War for that matter. Should the vaunted U.N. have let Saddam take over Kuwait, just because no one had the right to liberate the Kuwaiti's from the Iraqi invasion? If, as you say, Iraq poses a threat to Israel, then you're affirming one of the reasons given by the U.S. for the war, that Iraq is a threat to it's neighbors. When the war is over, the U.S. will pay the same price for oil on the open market as every other country in the world, just as it always has done. The difference between Iraq having weapons of mass destruction and other counties such as the U.S., Britain, France, and Russia having weapons of mass destruction is that Iraq would use theirs to threaten it's neighbors with nuclear blackmail. There's nothing to stop Saddam from nuking anyone if he gets ahold of nuclear weapons. The other nations I mentioned have institutions that prevent a single person from launching such weapons.
But the reason I was actually leaving this comment was to ask the question, "is it the responsibility of the U.S. to feed the Iraqi people?" Look up the statistics for the U.S.'s contribution of money and food to starving people in the world. It's quite significant. The only people Saddam feeds is his soldiers. It's Saddam's responsibility to feed his people, not the U.S. If he willingly fails to do that, it's justification enough to remove him from power. But the fact that he purposefully kills his people is even more justification.
The U.S. isn't perfect. No nation is. But the U.S. is doing what it thinks is right. It's more than what some other countries are doing.
I forget who said it, but there's a good quote: "Every man is guilty of the good he does not do." We may make mistakes in the pursuit of doing the right thing, but trying and failing is better than not trying at all.

I think its time you woke up,first us have no right to liberate any country couz its not your right to do that and its no one right,evry one and the childs before the adult know that us want this war for many motives first to defend israel because iraq one of the most dangerous country on israel.second thing is the iraqi oil because the us oil will be over in few years thats y the american companies contracting with us cov for the iraqis oil.and i know that saddam is stupid because he listened to us when he invaded kuwait he toke the green light from us but they cheated him,why?because they wanted a reason to make this war on iraq and they wante to take the weapons wich they gived to him on iraqi/irani war,maybe saddam is dictator but that dont give the right to us to (librate) iraq as u said,and if iraq has incusive destruction weapons it will not be the only country that have that kind of weapons .

I think its time you woke up, and saw exactly why this war is happening. You think we're doing it to waste money? No, we're doing it to liberate a country that has been controlled by a dictator for too long. America could have overthrown Saddam at the end of the first Gulf war, however, they didnt, and for good reason. If they had overthrown saddam then, it would have thrown an already unstable region in to total chaos, not least left Iraq open to invasion from the kurds, Iran, or any number of other regions.

I am for the war. If you sent the money that it cost to build a bomber to Iraq there would be another palace for saddam built within a month and the Iraqi people would be just as bad off as they were now.
The debate that we funded and armed Saddam years ago is an exhausted one too. You know the US and the British fought eachother once. The US and the Germands fought once before. The point is is that throughout histroy the has some of our friends we have now were enemies in the past, some of our ememies now were once allies and friends.
You can weave all kinds of anti war mumbo jumbo if you stir in all the ingredients of the past (while antiwar style keeping some out of course) and cook up some really good looking reasons why the war is so awful.
All of these people around the world are slamming my leaders and the coalitions leaders but they obviously are not paying attention to the fact that everytime the soldiers liberate one more section of Iraq the people a re happier than they have ever been in their lives. Before all of this Iraq war stuff started I didnt see any of you protesting the way Saddam treated his people or ruled Iraq, which in case you have not noticed he is one sick f***er, you all never care or spoke out or made art expressing anything about the situation going on over there.
Then all of a sudden someone says WAR and you all come flooding out of the coffe shops and know everything about the past and everything about Iraq.
You dont know 1 percent about whats is going on over there and if you did you would either be supporting our leaders who have the ability and the resolve and the determination to make the hard decisions and to stick to their decisions and not listen to babbling leaders like Chirac who would rather keep his economic interests and deals with a madman going that to life a finger to help an entire countries worth of people who have been raped, murdered, and supresses for almost half a century.
For the person up above who said that the attack on the Twin Towers in New YOrk ity was funny...I don't know what to say to you accept that I feel sorry for you. ANythin you have to say or feel has absolutely no validation and no warrant if you think that thousands of people dying in a single moment while they were at work trying to make an honest living is funny.
We have an extraordinary opportunity to see history being changed, to see millions of people beciming free in a moment compared to how long they have been prisoners in their own lands. This is a positive thing and it is an honor to me to be an American and I support my leaders.

"Whatever" the end to every brainwashed argument I hear. George Bush senior: Sold weapons to Sadaam before condemming him, Rumsfeld travelled to Iraq to arrange even MORE weapons to Saddam, anthrax and plague aplenty. But thats OK because it's nothing to do with this government. This government just contains Bush's son, Donald Rumsfeld..... wait a minute!! The best solution would be to drop the useless sanctions that are keeping the people of Iraq down whilst empowering Saddam, let them feed and head themselves and then, if they want to, they can lead an uprising against Saddam. The way Saddam controld his people is by saying "look, the west persecutes you and doesn't allow you food or medicine, I shall save you". America sold him the means to kill thousands of his own people and is going in to Iraq to kill thousands of his people. Just makes you want to stand up and repeat the pledge of alliengence: War is Peace, Slavery is Freedom...

This "man" ( I use the term loosely ) could feed his people if he cared about them. Maybe you can turn a deaf ear and blind eye to the documented atrocities this man commits but, a reasonable person would conclude that this evil man is responsible for untold amounts of human suffering and pain. When you see the people in Iraq waving US flags and hugging our troops out of gratitude, you MAY get a sense of what they have been through. Soon the world will see that the USA was indeed right about this! Just watch.
