Wow, this paints... just an amazing picture. I feel like it flows perfectly with emotion. The difference in dealing with anger, the process of how they forgive one another. I love it~

Youre beautiful words have brought me to tears. Such a wonderful and real feeling of love and anger and fear and vulneraility. I like to think that I've never been there.

Came across this hidden away in a forgotten faves file today. It didn't upset me; just made me jealous of your skill, as usual. You have no idea how many people were inspired by your work and magnificent spark.
Still one of the best pieces I ever read on DA or anywhere else.
We miss you Bill.

I realize now that this piece most surely inspired one of mine, and I didn't even realize until now because there was such a space between when I read this and when I wrote it. I'm going to have to go find it and give credit where credit is due. =]

I'll only tell one thing...To forgive is the world's rarest skill. Those who have mastered it, are a treasure.

Patience, faith, and endurance are dying things in today's world, especially in terms of love. We all expect it to work out perfectly on the first try and when it doesn't we immediately move on. We've forgotten that things require second, third, fourth chances and that struggle is what creates worth. You've captured the situation perfectly; it's believable, raw, and tender all at the same time.
This is something I've really needed to read. Thanks for creating it

You are so right! There are so many people who think that they can just walk away when they don't like something within a relationship. People forget that things can't be perfect. Love and life can't be perfect. That's why we need patience, faith and endurance.

Sorry for another post, but this piece kept reminding me of something, and it just occurred to me that it reminds me of the opening scene in the Sam Shepherd play Fool For Love! The way I'd picture the guy watching the girl pack, and all that.

You make it sound like you're not entirely confident about this, but this has to be up there for me with Bad Poetry as one of my favorite pieces from you. You're amazing with description! I actually like the ending too. It's like he's tired of what she does, yet (somehow) not tired of her. So...yeah I really like this!!!

I really like all the descriptions of the physical things that were purchased at an attempt for a happy home, and then in the second to last paragrph the revalation that it's things like socks and the wedding ring that inspire his love and forgiveness. Nice little contrast there.

I know you said this was rough, but I love it. Adore would be a better word, really.
I think that this has to be one of my favourite pieces of writing on DA. It's so wonderfully honest. It's very melancholy, but wonderfully uplifting at the same time.
Your writing never fails to make me feel. So, thank you.

This was simply touching- the two anticipated apologies that all too often never occur. On a side note, I have to admit, if I received something like this from my significant other, I'm not sure if I would be offended (it paints a stereotypical image of frivolous females), or just melt away with desire (the ending is so endearing). The descriptions in this are absolutely amazing. And from the standpoint it's told, heart wrenching. I hope someday to be able to pull something like this off in 15 minutes.

I think the mixed feelings are common with this. The letter can piss you off, but it can also make you feel warm inside, too. I suppose it's all a matter of context and perspective--what the reader brings to this piece versus what the writer offered.
