Sooooo I think there are probably a bazillion versions of this idea now that I've been a slag for so long and didn't post this even though it was finished. I just couldn't pick between two almost identical versions, so it languished in my folder for a month. Ridiculous. So I finally decided that I was going to post it cause... that needed to happen.This was just to get the idea out of my head and onto paper cause it was really persistent, so there are definitely things I'm not super happy with. The background being one. The Asgardian beanbag chair is kind of another, but at this point it's given me enough giggles that I couldn't change it to something more reasonable.
Anywho, yeah, thanks a lot Tom Hiddleston for making this bit of head canon actual canon. I really love it and it makes me happy even though it simultaneously causes really horrible feels so it's kind of a double-edged sword.

I am so paaaaainfully behind on my replies and such, but I'm going to try to catch up this weekend! Anyway, after allowing this to languish here for half a year, I can still say that I'm glad you got to see the movie! It wasn't groundbreaking by any means, but I was entertained and it satisfied my hopes concerning Loki screen time XD. I still have mixed feelings about what they did with Frigga, but I'm glad that she got to be such a badass at least. And I'm glad you like the picture! I'm not entirely happy with it, but I suppose that's an artist's lot, no?

Lol, I don't mind slow replies. As far as female stereotypes go I'm pretty freaking upset about how they icebox'd her, but Marvel is making a lot of headway in other ways against negative stereotypes so I'll allow them this one. They definitely had fanservice in mind when they made it, methinks!!! So no, not groundbreaking, but entertaining and an okay jumping point for further head-canon explorations.

Yeah, I have a lot of mixed feelings about that. It's such a crappy thing to do, and I really don't appreciate relying on that plot device, but then on the other hand I really don't know what else they would have done. Loki's such a little turd... what else could they have used to motivate him to cooperate? And it had to be something that Thor believed would be enough to get him to behave long enough to accomplish at least some of their objectives... I can't really see Thor going to him without the emotional trump card. I've tried to think of an alternative, but I've never been able to come up with something that seemed like it would be able to get the same results. So. That kind of stinks.
But I do get the feeling that Marvel is, at the very least, TRYING, and I think that counts for a lot. There are definitely a lot of other venues where they are showing improvement.
Hehehe yeah, I think you're right about the fanservice, though. I kind of KNOW you're right - the director talked about how many more Loki scenes they shot during pick ups. And his 'death' scene was originally supposed to be his death... pretty sure the power of the crazy fangirls is what averted that.

It does severely bother me that the life of a woman (even fictionally) is less important than motivation to get the little turd we all love to be a part of the movie in ways we'd enjoy seeing. Le sigh. But again, I feel like if THAT, which is super common, is the worst we can really come up with as far as negativity toward women, it's still forward progress considering all the other ways they're trying.

It was a little sigh-inducing, but I at least appreciated that they made Frigga a complete badass - she'd totally have won that fight, hands down, if it had been one-on-one. That doesn't always happen in things, where the woman gets to go out with a bang. And I was happy that she didn't back down... she struggled momentarily, but then she was just a dignified bamf once she realized it wasn't going to work. So, that's something at least.
But it certainly will be nice when they don't always fall back on that plot point. And you're right - at least it wasn't anything worse! Progress is progress.

Aah I'm glad the background looks ok... I messed around with it so much and it still did not seem quite right. But if it at least looks ok, I am happy! Haha and yes, they are practicing magic. ^___^ I'm so glad you like the green... I was trying to use more variation than just the darker greens or the blue-greens. I'm not used to the paler, yellow-greens like a lot of what is in this picture, but it's nice to know it works!
