Description
Because I'm so freaking good at drawing emotions I just thought: Hmph...emotions are just too overrated for me to draw...Nah I can't handle emotions well, much like in real life ironically.
Probably my first proper drawing of Rin since I moved to this lovelier, quieter space. 'Bet I've got about 100,000 messages in my old account. I'll just leave the cleanup to the hackers then. ¬u¬
This was all originally supposed to be a drawing for my Computer Games Development project, but decided: aww fuck it I'll make it into something for you guys to see...So I changed her hair colour...and made a background...that's it.
I thought all this comic-like stuff would be appropriate. I downloaded the whole texture thingy from somewhere a long time ago, can't remember who it's made by but whoever you are: THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY CROTCH ouo.
I've had to do so much shit these two weeks, 6 essays/reports (one of which, for Computer Games Development, I had to draw concept sketches for because there's no way I'm going to steal pics from Google Images to plop in). But through all that I created a couple of sketches and (semi) successfully painted this. I blame the magic wand for all those horrible mistakes you see in the hair colouring; That's what you get for trying to do things quickly.
I began to read the manuha "School Shock" again and began to look at how Sun Heng drew the characters; and in particular, Lui Li. I attempted to recreate Lui Li's eyes in this picture because I realised that the detail in her eyes are her most distinguishing feature. Although these eyes look NOTHING like Lui Li's I did sorta think about the rounded shape of them and merged it into what I was doing, so luckily it's not just a copy/paste thing.
Oh and thank you for showing me the fringe and that other thing which I used for the background, really helped. /OuO/ I hug you now.
EDIT- Oh yea and about that little wisp of hair overlapping other strands. Yea that was supposed to be in the CGD version where she was supposed to be lying in bed, and the strand was just making it look more like a "bed head" if you will. Couldn't take it out because it was already linearted by then.

wow.. the eyes man.. the got all the heat on here....
even the fact that the comic strip texture is really well used... giving it some pop art shade, the lights are so freaking awesome, that goes perfectly with the background... and creates a perfect contrast with the colors in the char... (sorry if that was to scholar) the eyes are simply delightful to watch, the colors, the shades the brights, the details... all of them... keep like this and i will be forces to ask for some tutorials... XD anyway.. good to see work from you again.

Heat? Has someone fallen in love with Rin? ¬u¬ Only kidding.
thankyou I'm really glad you like the effect, it's the first time I've ever felt the urge to use any paper textures in SAI it was a last minute addition I added at the end.
You like the background? I should probably use Layer Masks more often then.
I don't really think I'd have much to teach you, You are the superior artist here, I should be learning from you. It's good to see work from me again too.
