Canon Digital Rebel XSi18-55mm kit lens
3 shot HDR (-2, 0, +2)
Believe it or not, this is a real image. I caught these outflow-dominant storms (to the north) falling apart, just as the sun lit up the sky to the west. The clouds to the west received the sunlight, blocking any light from getting to the lower storm structures. The result was a dynamic collage of hot reds and cool blues. One of the year's top sunsets! Wish I would have framed a little less grass and a little more sky, but no worries. I've got more images

I haven't heard a lot about this Photomatix program. How is it compared to Photoshop? I have only used Photoshop, still learning it as a matter of fact. I am thinking about trying out Photomatix though. Seems like you can get some great results.

Thank you very much! I haven't tried Photoshop, so I really can't make a fair comparison. From what I've read though, Photomatix offers a lot more features that allow you to tweak the image to precisely how you want it

Well, I do believe I am going to try it out then. Photoshop is complicated. It's got too many "bells and whistles" if you know what I mean.

I was thinking, if you don't like the grass as much, crop it down a bit! Blow it up a little larger and bam...new feel.
