Every day, someone out there is in need of a rescue. In a world of cheesy, nefarious, and sometimes downright evil supervillains, the chances for a hero, an agent, or even a random bystander to become a “damsel in distress” are always high. Sometimes, they can escape on their own, or defeat their dastardly captor, but when all hope seems lost they only need to say a Prayer, and the Blazing Angels of the Damsel in Distress Rescue Squad will be there!
Issue 2:
Lucilla Dane was an heiress unlike any other. She was stunningly smart, shockingly gorgeous, and set to inherit her father’s company, Dane Enterprises, when she turned twenty-five in three years. The twenty-two year old woman had even finished her University degree at the top of her class. She was making herself and her family proud with her brilliance. But above all, she was kind-hearted, and did the right thing. That was what set her apart.
It was also what had landed her right in the arms of Shen, a fellow recent University graduate, and a boyfriend of whom her father did not approve. Her and Shen's birthdays were actually only a few days apart, and when Lucilla learned that he had never had a birthday party, she threw a joint one in his, and her, honor on their collective twenty-second birthday weekend. The event had sparked a romance between the two, one that she had to keep secret from her father, who never would have approved of anyone less than a prince of some small nation. Such was life in high society, and Lucilla hated it.
It was for this reason Lucilla found herself meeting Shen in secret at some mid tier bar in Miami, over in the States. Originally from the United Kingdom, she figured she would be able to mostly get away from her family's prying eyes in such a place as this. She was nervous, but everything melted away when she saw her handsome man inside the bar.
Shen’s smile had always been enticing to her. Electric even. It spread through the room and warmed her heart. He was handsome, with a lean, athletic figure. Lucilla brushed a streak of her naturally light blonde hair back behind her ear and smiled as she answered him…
