X-Ded: Blockhead — Description

X-Deds are strange, masked creatures that have appeared with the arrival of The Masked Prophet. They have come from some other land, as no one in the many kingdoms have ever seen such weird critters. They travel about in small, harmless forms, following The Mask Prophet wherever he goes. In these small stages, they are shy, yet curious of their surroundings. Many who see them for the first time find them cute and adorable. But upon the utterance of some strange, foreign phrase, the small beings violently transform into a completely different creature. Their pale, spongy flesh bubbles and expands, bony growths form in their bodies, and they are no longer so little or harmless. With these beasts, The Masked Prophet has been cutting through villages and castles, spreading the destruction and word of the god known only as The Carver.
Blockheads get their name from the shape of their masks, and some would say that it applies to their intellect as well. In their smaller form, Blockheads don't travel alone, most of the time pairing up with another small X-Ded. In this stage, they act like they are as strong as their attack form, and can be found trying to push or flip things way too large for their size. Their tentacle arm seems to be nonfunctional, and it drags around behind them like a rope. But when the phrase is uttered, their transformation turns them into hulking brutes that make up the brawn of the X-Ded legion. In "attack form," Blockheads are extremely powerful, as their muscular arm is capable of lifting enormous weights and the grip of their hand can crush boulders. A punch thrown by a Blockhead has the same effect as a battering ram, and they are often used as such. Their tentacle arm is now functional in this form, and though it appears weaker than their other arm, it can be just as devastating. Using their tentacle like a whip, they can snag enemies that are too far to punch and yank them into crushing range. With a quick sweep, they can also knock the legs out of many foes, knocking them to the ground. And when surrounded by X-Deds, they rarely have the chance to get back up. Blockheads are essentially a siege weapon, deployed after other X-Deds defeat or occupy enemy soldiers. For breaking into castles, two Blockheads are usually used. With their enormous fists, they alternatively batter the gates, while the other may use its whip arm to snag warriors off of the nearby battlements. Once holes are punched into the gates, they send in their tentacles to yank out defending enemies, or knock them off their feet. After the fighters behind the gates are pushed back, the two will rip off the remaining pieces and let their brethren pour in.
Blockheads are also used as guards for The Masked Prophet, with at least one "attack form" always nearby. Like the Slugs, he finds them useful for intimidation, and few warriors have the courage to challenge him when one is nearby.
