Sridah — Description
Sridah is a gorgon who spent most of her life in isolation, as her petrifying gaze made her kind a menace to any living thing with eyes. With so much time alone, she took up art to try and fill her time, as well as a way to cheer her up. In such conditions, she had all the time in the world to hone her skills and become a master in almost every type of art. But eventually her writing and beautiful paintings started to seem like reminders of her isolation, and the whole endeavor made her even more depressed. When she heard a famous poet was visiting a nearby village, she excitedly left her cave in hopes of meeting someone like her. Unfortunately the incident left a petrified poet and a town mob hot on her tail as she fled back to her hidden home. With her hideout now discovered, the townsfolk sent in demands to kings and mercenaries for them to send knights and warriors to slay the monster. Within a few days, a noble knight came to her cave and proceeded to assault her, trying to kill her for fame and honor. The vicious struggle ended with her petrifying the knight, but not before she received numerous wounds as well, both physically and mentally. This didn't stop with him either, as more warriors came for her head. Each brutal murder attempt left her traumatized, causing her to become paranoid and fearful of almost everything.

Things changed for her when the Knights of the Wrong Table arrived, as they heard stories of a monster ravaging the countryside and petrifying warriors in its wake. Instead of a vicious beast, they found Sridah, desperately hiding from the platoon of knights. After they dropped their weapons and coaxed her out, the knights learned her side of the story. Knowing that their refusal to slay her would only lead to more attempts on her life, the knights decided to take her with them. Initial offers of knighthood were flat out refused, as Sridah feared violence and any form of battle. Things were settled when they offered her the position of bard and scribe, a job that would use her art skills, while keeping her away from harm. With that settled, they took Sridah back to their headquarters, where she now remains.

Sridah is an extremely shy and scared being, with her past experiences causing her to be afraid of almost anything. Violence terrifies her, and even arguments or any form of anger frightens her. Even with the order, she keeps herself sealed in her room most of the time, practicing writing, painting, drawing, carving or any art style she decides on. Slowly she is getting better with the order, coming out more and trying to converse with them. But if the situation makes her uneasy, she is back to her room. She rarely goes with the group when on missions, as any one that involves fighting is out for her. The only time she comes is when they are 100% certain that violence will not be a thing. She mainly stays at the headquarters with the company of Chef Yir, Natali and Coat-of-Arms.

Though she is shy, she is friendly and polite. She is good with almost every member of the order. Her closest friend is Merril (Dryad Knight), who loves to share stories with her and appreciates Sridah's art. When Sridah comes out of her room, Merril is usually the one person she hangs out with the most. Many times Merril has been invited into her room, which just has them crafting and talking the night away. Merril is also the one who is called in to help Sridah when she has night terrors or panic attacks, being the one to help calm her down. She is also good friends with Natali and Yir, as they are the ones who remain at the castle when the rest of the order is out. Since Sridah is one of the few who stays at the castle, she is usually the one who receives Natali's messages when the others are gone. Yir, being ever the professional chef, usually delivers meals to her personally and is happy to talk to her about the art of cooking. He has offered to teach her, and there are times she takes him up on that offer. She is surprisingly in good relations with Dragon Knight, whose short temper and stubborn ways would seem like a turnoff. He acts kind and quiet when she is around, as not to scare her, and has shown to be very protective of her as well. The worst relation she has is with Sir Roderick (Ghost Knight) who is disgusted with her and sees her as an absolute wimp. It doesn't help he was the one egging on the order to kill her when they were in her cave.

When with others, Sridah wears tinted goggles so that she does not petrify others, while allowing her to see at the same time. The tinting makes it a little harder for her to see, so she occasionally runs into things. When alone in her room, the goggles are off so she can work properly. Everyone knows it is imperative to knock before opening the door to her room.

Despite having one of the most deadliest powers in the world, Sridah refuses to ever use her petrifying eyes for anything. The order respects her wishes on this and will never ask that of her.

While I was changing up Natali, I got the idea to do a new picture of Sridah. The main reason I wanted to do it was because her picture did not match her background at all. It was obvious I drew that pic before I developed her character and it made it kind of weird, having some sad, scared character in writing but having her all happy in the picture. So there! That is fixed!

I also wanted to make her back story a bit shorter, as I looked over the old one and it seemed I was trying to write some freaking novel. Way too much writing. So here is a condensed version.
