Orbalisk — Description
Odd creations that have survived for centuries and are found on many populated planets, the origin of the orbalisks is unknown. A combination of flesh and metal, they move about like monkeys, climbing structures and leaping from ledge to ledge. Each orbalisk is "programmed" to hunt down a specific individual, stopping at nothing to ensure that their target is killed. The targets they hunt are completely random, with no definite pattern or reason. Once a target is dispatched, the individual orbalisk will scurry off and hide until its next target is selected.

Orbalisks have an odd religious fascination with rain. When rain approaches, all orbalisks in the area cease their hunting and scramble to the highest ground or structure. There, they remain motionless as the rain pours from the heavens, never moving from their gargoyle-like state. Once the rain ceases, the orbalisks will return to hunting, with a new programming and a new target. Orbalisks refer to the rain as "Father," which is the term they whisper as the rain approaches. After the end of the storm, all orbalisks will mutter the phrase "Father has spoken" as they go off to hunt their newly selected prey.
