Grabber Boogie — Description

The Grabber Boogie (Dwellus snatchus) is a bed-specialist, setting up its territory under the beds of children. Its body is comprised mainly of cartilage, allowing it to compress its body to get in tight areas, mainly cluttered spaces under beds. It has the ability to camouflage its skin, allowing it to turn almost invisible to the human eye. This is used to hide during the day. Even at night, it remains under the bed, its body positioned right at the edge. It waits for prey to get close, usually when the child gets into or out of the bed. When in range, it launches its large hands to snare the legs and pull the child under. Once the child is grabbed, it wraps itself around them and pretends to attack them. Snarls, false bites and rapid shaking gives the victim the idea they are being attacked, but the Boogie does not attempt to physically harm them. Once it has harvested enough fear, or the parents begin to approach, the Boogie will release the child and throw them free of the bed. The camouflage is then reactivated and the Boogie disappears.
The Grabber Boogie is capable of learning patterns of the prey, using this knowledge to lure the prey into striking distance. Incidents have been found where Grabbers learn what the child's favorite toy or item is and steal it, using it to lure them closer to the safe darkness of the bed.
