Death Crawler — Description

The Death Crawler is a legend held by several nomadic tribes, a creature that rises from the grave to drag mortals back into it. They're bodies were made by corpses being sewn into long sacs of skin and leather, which constantly leak dust and sand. The mask and blades are given to them from the underworld. These unholy creatures are buried deep within the earth, in hibernation until they are required. They are awakened by those who cheat death, or those who violate burial grounds. They burst forth from the soil like fat grubs, seeking out its victims. Once awakened, they will ruthlessly hunt their target, never giving up no matter what happens. The scissors on the end of their "tails" do not harm the flesh, but cuts through their soul, leaving a seemingly unharmed corpse behind. Satisfied with its kill, they return to their burrowers and resume their slumber.
It is said that Death Crawlers are actually the larval stage of some horrid demon, but that has never been confirmed.
