I've had a look for brindle tutorials across dA and, while there are a few, they all rely very heavily on Photoshop filters which I feel is inappropriate for such an organic subject. Therefore, I sat down and made my own. It's a very fun technique, at least on smaller pieces. I don't know how it would be for larger pieces, but you're free to have a bash (I hope it doesn't get too repetitive).

Sorry for the huge file, but tutorials traditionally are huuuuge.
