Reminds me of my highschool friend. Her parents (mainly her father), forced her to go to violin lessons. She would pretend to play bad in hopes that they would make her stop, it worked eventually. She's a very intelligent girl, and I'm sure she could have played beautifully if her heart was into it.
Her father would also make comments like that too. Her sister was an XS shirt size, American size 1 jeans ( Roughly European 32) and was told by her father one summer that she was "getting fat". She was struggling with depression at the time, and it tipped her into anorexia and drugs....

thats happened to me. tho a bit different.
some random person told me id be so much prettier without my lip ring. it was prolly a good thing i was at work at the time,,,, cuz hooo boy would i have given her a piece of my mind.
and then i get the 'why can't you be more girly' from my mom. so yeah.
i get those feels.

It's not so painful to hear random mean things from random people (cuz, who cares what they think about you, really), but when your mum says you could have been better but will never be good enough for her (cause your "father's nose" is not something you can fix by your sheer willingness) - it's really sad, like the saddest thing ever. o.o
What I wanted to say is: yes, we all know a bit of that pain, I second your comment.)

my friends mom was worse i think than what my mom said.
she kept patting my freinds stomach and telling her to suck it in.
she was in no way fat or even a little pudgy... she still has a complex about it... and still she is in no way fat or pudgy... and maybe the lil bit of weight she did gain is feasible because she just had a kid.
its insane what a few simple words from someone you care about (or cares about you) does to you.
