UinenIllustration for Silmarillion by Tolkien
At first, I wanted to paint a lighthouse instead of the moon, in order to get that proper Silmarillion primal feeling, I guess you all understand why...
Then I went with the moon, just to make it closer to our human perceiption.

So beautiful! I love the way you paint the hands, the breasts, the eyes and the smile. This wet dress is superb and corals in her hair and the flying fish look fantastic. I love the mystical mood on this one, the moon reflecting on water, the water ripples, so perfectly neat and u-natural. I love the way the dress flows like a wave or a jellyfish! There's so much to see in your details. Is she holding a pearl in her hand?

Yes, thats a pearl in her hand) I really took my inspiration in jellyfishes (I don't know, what is the form), and pearl-shells, I'd like to make her scintillant, like a pearl) I tried to portray her beautiful, but dangerous, like quite a number of her creatures))

This work is beautiful but what impresses me most, besides the magnificent use of color, is the three-dimensionality of the subject. Uinen is so "real" in your painting that I can almost touch it.

А Элентари- сложно её себе представить, особенно после такого количества всевозможных интерпретаций.., да и свет звёзд- он холодный, далёкий и чужой... амбициозная это идея, изобразить Прекраснейшую... скорого результата не обещаю, но наброски делаются

давно так не мучилась с лицом, (несколько раз смывала, протерла бумагу почти до дыры, покрыла акриловым грунтом, последний вариант получше чем предыдущие, всё равно не довольна, может когда нибудь доделаю)

да, со смываниями это бывает, я недавно уже все нарисовала, а потом что-то мне не понравилось, я решила смыть, ну и пошло поехало, бульвар не выдержал двоих и рисунок отправился в мусор, акварель штука такая(
с акрилом проще в этом смысле, но понятно, что не на бумаге
для меня кстати до сих пор вопрос что взять под акрил, моя приятельница обещала мне работу, а я вот озадачилась и думаю на чем делать...вопрос...чтоб и исправить можно и не вело сильно...

С акрилом в чистом виде никогда дела не имела, (хотя хочу попробовать), использовала для подмолёвков под масло -своего рода ещё один, цветной слой грунта.
а чтобы не повело- как вариант, оргалит на подрамнике, это уже точно не поведёт) и под такой материал как акрил очень даже хорошо, (хотя не все заказчики признают оргалит, для таких- иконописные доски)).
акрилом по бумаге- не знаю не знаю; по моему, прикол акрила заключается в том, что им можно писать на чём угодно и не обязательно убирать под стекло. (..недавно поняла, что пора возвращаться к технике "холст-масло"(или акрил), когда пришлось везти на выставку 30 больших гуашно-акварельных картинок со стёклами :/ )

Да, оргалит на подрамнике хорошо, сама одно время увлекалась, но вот если охота большой размер сделать и повесить) его особо на стену тоже не взгромоздишь, тяжеловатая конструкция выходит) но акрил действительно хорош тем, что стеклить не обязательно....
упоминание об иконописных досках меня, как иконописца веселит))) вот как она на вас упадет размером два на два метра) шутка, но случаи бывали....вывод у меня пока один напрашивается, хороший плотный холст уже загрунтованный и на подрамнике
и нет ничего нового под солнцем....

Gorgeous is the word
I like her tits, not only as a male-chauvinist saying weird compliments, but also cause Uinen really seems like a young lady to me (not like Varda, Yavanna or Melian) so a big chest will be to "motherly" (don't know if the word is appropriate here) and will fit better the godesses who have a more important role in the story. Another aspect which leads me to that conclusion is that, even if she is married to Ossë, the members of the "Guild of the Venturers" call themselves "Uinen's lovers" (if my memory isn't betraying me). So, not only focusing on her chest that's more a general comment to say that, if Uinen is more positive than her jealous and short-tempered husband, she isn't the kind of angel/godess who acts as guardian and a mother. Which I think is really well shown in your drawing with her kinky smile and look.
Did I say that the colors were perfect also ? That red you are using is just awesome !
