Life Colossus: The Stag — Description
Here's my first entry in the Colossus contest. Like a lot of my drawings, this one came about via wandering pencil, just adding whatever seemed interesting as I worked. I decided to give him a head that was unusual, not entirely mammalian or animal-like. Between the face and the claws, I gave him a touch of an insectoid feel as well. In keeping with the life theme, I covered him in fungi and made his "fur" look like long strips of tree bark. His head opens up almost like a seed pod to release billowing clouds of pollen, probably very hazardous to breathe in!
