Description
A photograph I took while swimming with the whalesharks! The whale shark, Rhincodon typus, is a slow-moving filter feeding shark, the largest living fish species. The largest confirmed individual was 12.65 metres (41.50 ft) in length and the heaviest weighed more than 36 tonnes (79,000 lb), but unconfirmed claims report considerably larger whale sharks.
The whale shark is targeted by commercial fisheries in several areas where they seasonally aggregate. The population is unknown and the species is considered vulnerable by the IUCN. They are currently listed as a vulnerable species; however, they continue to be hunted in parts of Asia, such as Taiwan and the Philippines.

This shark is completely harmless though just like a gentle giant, sharks can sense fear when people panic that's when attacks when usually...Whale sharks feed on plankton, and A LOT of it

Well this guy would simply just ignore you But it would certainly attract unwanted attention but the chances of having a shark attack you are so slim so don't worry about it
Sorry if I caused a scare...Great whites usually mistake people on surf boards for seals, as they can only see the board and the surfer's limbs in view (looks like a seal in shark vision). You should be more scared of humans than sharks! Knowing that 100 millions sharks are killed approximately every year...shark attacks each year 1/5? puts in perspective
