Description This is an idea I've had in the back of my head for a while, a 'what if' scenario based on something that almost happened.

What if Power Rangers were owned by MARVEL?

In the  late '70's and early 80's MARVEL and Toei had a licensing agreement, resulting in the creation of the Japanese Supaida-Man, and the 'first' Super Sentai, Battle Fever J.
Stan Lee considered adapting Super Sentai and bringing it to the U.S., but no western broadcaster would pick it up due to it looking too goofy.
This logo is based on the premise that Stan Lee succeeded in bringing Super Sentai to the U.S. and it was received just as much as its real life 90's counterpart.

The first series to be brought over to the U.S. would've been Taiyo Sentai Sun Vulcan in 1983, but rather than a full fledged adaption, it was merely a dubbed over series, shortening the title to merely 'Sun Vulcan' to appeal to western audiences. The series was a mild hit, but it was enough to launch the series forward.
However, the broadcasters requested that the next series be made 'more american' to appeal to a wider audience, instigating Marvel to produce their first full adaption that debuted in 1985. Now called 'Power Rangers', the Marvel team skipped Goggle V in favor of producing a Dynaman adaption. Bioman was the second series to be adapted in 1986, renamed as Power Rangers Bio Force and marketed as a loose sequel to the previous series.
While the three teams never met on screen, Marvel did have them team up in their comic book adaptions, and did the same for succeeding series.
Power Rangers continued to be a success until the early 90's when the network censors began to view the series as being too violent, even after editing was done to cut down on the said violence.

The original network dropped Power Rangers from its programming, only for it to be picked up by the new broadcaster on the block, Fox Network, which was set to bring many of Marvel's properties back to television.
From 1991 to 1993 there was no new TV series brought over from Japan, but they still continued to produce comic book lines based on the already established series.
Power Rangers required a much needed reboot, and so the studio hired Haim Saban to reinvent the series.
The series saw a revival in 1993's aptly titled 'Marvel's Mighty Morphin Power Rangers' adapted from the 1992 series Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger.
This would be the first series to adapt multiple series into one american series, as opposed to following the one series a year formula its predecessors went by.
It included adapting Dairanger, Kakuranger, and even bits of the previous series, Jetman. With MMMPR, Saban established a new continuity for Power Rangers, called the 'Zordon continuity' by fans of the franchise which lasted from 1993-1998.
The first two movies were released during this time, in 1995 and in 1997 based upon the series of their respective years. They were met with poor reception due to low budget concerns and the fan base hoping for an anniversary movie based on the original Power Rangers from 1985.

Saban would leave working on Power Rangers, and production was moved over to ABC in late 2002. the 2000 series Lightspeed ResQ was the first series to feature an all original american created ranger as the 6th ranger, as the Japanese footage only had 5 rangers originally.
In 2005 Power Rangers celebrated its 20th anniversary, returning partly to its roots with the police themed Space Patrol Delta. Space Patrol Delta saw a return of many veteran actors, including a few of the cast from Power Rangers and Bionic Force.
2005 also saw a higher budget movie produced based on the original 1985 series, which sparked renewed interest in the Power Rangers franchise, but it failed to generate any sequels.
In 2009, Disney bought out Marvel Comics, but were unsure if they wanted to continue producing Power Rangers. In 2010, Disney released Power Rangers in animated form, but it was met with poor reviews and bad criticism, calling the series to return to the live action adaptions the following year. Under the dual ownership of Disney and Marvel, many fans wanted to see Power Rangers in some form brought to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and their calls were finally answered in 2017 with the release of 'Power Rangers' based on the original 1985 series of the same name. They would later team up with other Marvel cinematic heroes, having crossover films with Guardians f the Galaxy and even Spider-Man. Other Power Rangers teams would be adapted, including Bio Force, Force X, and Mighty Morphin'.
For the 30th Anniversary of the series, Marvel sought out Saban again to produce an amalgam series again, resulting in Power Rangers Armada, a series that melded together Four Japanese series: Goseiger, Gokaiger, Go-Busters, and Kyoryuger, into one three seasons long show. It was a sensation, and gave the Power Rangers the boost it needed. in 2016 Marvel adapted two Power Rangers series at the same time. ToQger was adapted as Power Rangers Rail Force and was targeted at younger viewers while Ninninger was adapted as Ninja Steel and aimed at older fans of the series.
