Description
General Idea: "A Poor-man's Star Trek RPG Star Chart" that can be used with and adjusted to your own story lines and universe. Although I am adding some sectors specific to my story, the majority of this chart should be canon enough for those who wish to take it and change it to add additional areas. I am trying to leave additional areas for further exploration by others...0.8 Update - Added some additional locations, expanded the map size and worked on the LCARS a bit. Now includes sub-locations, on or in orbit, of certain planets as well as certain fleet locations that are noted in source material as being their peacetime home bases. Also added a certain Starbase Chimera from jonbromle1
0.7 Update - Added additional sectors to the west to better center the map, also added several locations from the Last Unicorn Games RPG Guides including frontier areas and border outposts from DS9 and Tholian territory locations
0.6 Update - Added some LCARS..., added locations from Star Trek Beyond near southern border of UFP, & added the 10 major Klingon Defense Station from FASA
0.5 Update - Major powers are pretty much colored in, may adjust border lines a bit in a few places...
0.4 Update - Started adding colors to the map...
0.3 Update - Started drawing borders for primary governments. Also added Additional sector space and stretched the map out a bit along the northern, southern and eastern edges to better align with known/explored space. There is also now additional room to put other areas such as a portion of Dominion space near the wormhole and other areas that may be needed for future stories... similar to how STO does theirs with a primary area and additional areas being created as needed. Not sure if i will chart the Delta Quadrant areas from STO since I don't see my adventures ever going their...
0.2 Update - Added two new spaces and a legend area: one new space for the area surrounding the wormhole near Dominion Space, and the other for an area surrounding the gateway to new area of space for the ST: Dunnottar story line (near the Alpha/Gamma Quadrant border)
0.1 Update - Added some planets including many semi-canon from the Star Trek Star Charts book, some from the Star Trek: Prey novels, and some klingon planets from the FASA rpg books
Original WIP - It is kinda a melding of the STO galaxy map (i did have to move some planets around a bit...)
Added some story planets from my RP story including some additional Cardassian planets and those of the Arthenn Expanse located east of the Armagosa System. E14-G18
I have also added information from the ST New Frontier novels (thanks to idahobeef for the general location of the planets)
Also plan to note several of the planets from the more recent startrek novels like the Typhon Pact stories.
Then the rest will be filled in pretty soon using my Star Trek Star Maps book.

The only thing that I can think of is, when you get ready to publish/submit your image make sure that you select under display options "original"

Lots and lots of time, plus lots more time... I only use msPaint for my stuff. I know that is crazy but I find working with pixels to be very relaxing.

Cool! I have the starchart books showing the known gamma quadrant but I am kinda waiting to see if the new Dominion expansion for Star Trek online will fill in some of the systems.

Oh my god, I fucking love this. I was working on pretty much the exact same thing, but only got as far as the Vulcan sector.

That looks very nice! I can't come close to that level of detail with mine
Would you do each sector as its own card or combine them into a large map?
My only thought would be to name the adjacent sectors on the edges of the card so that they could be collected and placed together to form a larger map...

That's kind of the idea. You COULD collect them and place them together as they're supposed to be. Or you could stack all the sectors into a pile that you draw as you explore off the edge of another sector. So you'd draw a random sector, and you could have the Antares sector end up being next to the Vulcan sector, etc.

How come there are 2 lines going to the Gamma Quadrant?

DKeith357 In reply to Salacnar [2017-08-24 01:52:48 +0000 UTC]
The gateway belongs to an ancient race known as the Pellmorians, who were at one time allies of the original species that eventually transcended becoming the Travelers. Then through a series of events that our crew will slowly uncover the Pellmorians and the Travelers turn to rivals. The Travelers ascend and the Pellmoeventually leave the Beta Quadrant for a new home using the gateway.

Part of my story where a gateway type device is discovered in the area of exploration where the hero ship is operating. Not sure exactly where on the map it is going to go... but im thinking somewhere in the gamma quadrant but I want it far, far away from the dominion territory.

I want to add something from your stuff to my map... In your ST: Chimera stories Rigel IV is home to Starfleet Starbase 134 correct? Are there any orbital facilities?

jonbromle1 In reply to DKeith357 [2017-08-30 17:16:47 +0000 UTC]
Oh wow, I'm flattered! Yes, Starbase 134 is home to the Starbase Chimera, the Long Range Mission Research Facility branch of the ASDV and an orbital dry dock.
