Description
I'm starting to like the idea of making a comic book adaptation of Sonic CD.Here, I wanted to see how well I could handle the visual style. Although it don't look too bad, the composition is a little weak here and there. There are just too many characters in the top right of the page in contrast to the bottom half.
I'll be writing a long description for this piece later on...

Can you please add punctuation to your comments? Believe me. It helps people understand you better. I assume you're asking me if I drew this. Well, no. You see, this was actually pencilled by a Hawaiian penguin, inked by a Tyrannosaurus Rex and coloured by Mother Teresa but I decided to post it on deviantArt and claim it as my own in the description. Does that answer your question, if it was a question?

I believe the dark eyes on the cover of Sonic 2 are really just an error on the part of the artist. After all, it wasn't until Sonic Adventure that SEGA came up with definitive designs for the characters of the series.

Nope, SEGA of America wanted their version to look more wicken, evil and vile. And the Japanese version was just goofy looking.
Ever read the Sonic Bible? The origin for Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic made by SEGA of America in 1991. Robotnik was once a good fellow then became a evil guy. They said that Robotnik had pure blue eyes, but the later changed that in 1992 to look more evil looking.

And that's why they later made sure that there was only one definite version of the characters instead of allowing each department to come up with their own. This is the reason we have the endless "His name is Eggman/No! It's Robotnik" debate nowadays.

If only they kept it how it was, where there was American Sonic canon in America and Japanese Sonic canon in Japan.
The American Sonic is the reason why Sonic got so popular in the west to start with.

I didnt really mean to say it like that, I mean sure I see a lot of epicness that SEGA has been doing nowadays like with Sonic Generations, im still hyped for that. But still its not the same. SEGA of America out of power and whatnot

This is epicness! I love how you have different angles in perspective, and the composition is wonderful and nicely arranged. I like how you also did the shading on the characters, something I've always found difficult with digital airbrushing combined with line drawing

The one and only... Hardcore Sonic CD fan #1! And that's not really a cover... It was more of a warm up to see if I could handle a busy comic book page layout. If I ever did a whole comic book, the cover would look a lot more sober than this.

Excellent work. I love how creepy you rendered Eggman there. It really sets the mood for the American version of the boss music from SCD, hohoho!

I'm glad it makes you feel this way. My soundtrack of choice for Sonic CD is the Japanese one, but the American boss theme really sends shivers down your spine. Was the original Eggman ever that creepy anyway?

Well, it was the most creepy boss song, that's for sure. When I hosted Sonic Amateur Games Expo 14, we interviewed Spencer Nilson, the guy who made the songs for the American version of Sonic CD. I asked him if he was inspired by Unsolved Mysteries for Eggman's boss theme, and oddly enough, I hit the mark.
