With one step into this spring-fresh forest you are immediately surrounded by budding maples and the smell of damp earth. Golden sunlight streams down through the trees’ smooth branches, caressing you lightly with warmth. A rustling noise distracts you, and your eyes follow the sounds to a shaking bush from which a fluffy white tail appears and then hurriedly darts out of sight. Walking on, the heart of the forest opens up into a small clearing amidst the clustered trees. The centre of this pleasant glade beckons you to an ancient oak tree, its rough trunk covered with patches of clinging, green moss. Colourful wildflowers dot the emerald grass surrounding this benevolent grandfather tree, interspersing the old with the young.
