Description Rushing up from the darkened staircase came the sound of screaming, but I closed my eyes and blocked it out.  Clammy, lifeless hands pulled at my arms and legs, but I sat still.  They could blow in my face, and I would sit there, immobile and untouchable.

But out of the darkness came that voice...sweet like honey and warm enough to soften my iron heart.  I felt the tears rolling down my cheeks as in a dream; I knew they couldn't touch me.  But that voice...

The most heart-rending sob tore through the screams, silencing them at once.  I started as if shaken.  My consciousness returned to find the source of the sob and found me lying on the dusty floor, crying.  His voice would never leave me, and as homocidal as its nature, I couldn't live without it.

If I'm not mistaken this sounds like a child witnessing domestic abuse from his parents and unable to choose sides. Very graphic and well-written imagery. I like it.

That's actually an interesting take on it... I can't really say what it is about, unfortunately. (Not being mysterious; I really have no clue. ) Thanks for the comment! *snuggle* (and any criticism is more than welcome!)
