Description UPDATE FOR 6 JUNE - v1.2.0 NOW OUT!

New features:
1)Added RSS Readers for BBC news, Lifehacker and Rainmeter Forums
2)Added a clock
3)Added an Uptime meter
4)Changed the wording on the CPU meter to make it more sensible.

NOTE: a more advanced version of the CPU meter using substitutes to show usage will be out in v1.2.1, but it will take a little while, so i thought id better hold it back until the next update - it is currently full of bugs and will probably still be a little shaky when it is released - I will need you guys to test it (and WhiteBaron to fix it!)

SUGGESTIONS WELCOME - just leave a comment and i will add your suggestion to the v1.2 build - unless you are called prisoner7 in which case i will try, before realising that the suggestion is beyond the capabilities of Rainmeter

The code used is based heavily on WhiteBaron's skin SimpleSentence 2.1 - [link] - many thanks to him for all his help! Please drop by his gallery and check it out.

Credit also to Aff of /wg/ who gave me the idea with his (similar) custom theme.

Please let me know what you think, I am always open to suggestions - this is my first ever skin, so it ain't looking so hot just yet just let me know what you think and i'll see what I can do.

add me to your deviantWATCH list to be alerted about updates!

Please feel free to use this idea or this image where you like, but please ask me for permission first and tell me what you will use it for.

Many Thanks for your input,
DeltaProject.

Sorry for late reply, haven't really been checking DA (shame on me!)

right click on the skin, go to skin menu, then edit skin.

change the font= variable to whatever you like then save the file. (cant remember if you have to restart rainmeter or not)

Fuuu-- What's the font you used for this skin? There's a different font when I use it on my computer. Other than that, I love it. love, love, love it.

XD good update.

I'm going to download a second copy of this and see if I can't help a bit with substitution, and maybe a few other adjustments if I can find them.

Interesting concept. Some seem off a little, but that's just my personal thing.

I would use some of the substitution code (Check in SimpleSentence's weather) on things like the CPU and RAM meter to change the text based on how much of either's being occupied ("I wonder how my CPU manages to hold out at 10 percent") =o

Other than that slight nag, it's thoughtful.

Thats a very interesting idea... might try to see if i can do that!

would i have to do a substitution for every single digit (e.g. 01="lalalal" 02="lalalala") or is there a way to group them? (my coding aint so great, but im getting there!)

Prisoner7 In reply to DeltaProject [2010-06-05 13:48:09 +0000 UTC]

I'm not entirely sure if you can group them. The best thing to do would be to ask on the forums about it, or ask one of the Omnimo developers (they seem to know Rainmeter in and out ) about it. But, it may possibly be every digit, in which case... ouch for the hands.

Good luck, though.

even if I have to do every digit, I assure you I will put this in the next update. too good an idea to pass up!

watch this space... or just add me to deviantWATCH...

As a matter of fact, I will. You have promise.

DeltaProject In reply to DeltaProject [2010-06-05 15:17:23 +0000 UTC]

hmmm.... it would seem that Rainmeter does not like it one bit. when it does work, it often shows 3-4 at once if the CPU usage is in between more than one digit, and the rest of the time it simply refuses to work. i'll keep trying, but it looks like its too fast-changing a result, even if i set the update to 10000.
