Edited it once again. The border looked better with the blue that's in the drawing. Sorry for those of you that have already seen this. I wanted to re-edit it so that the lower right part wasn't cut off so I put a white border around it and that way the edges could be a little uneven.This is a newly edited version of this picture that I was able to seam together better with photomerge in Photoshop Elements. It is a drawing I did for my Sister and Brother-In-Law. I did it with Prismacolor Pencils. Sorry for your seeing this again. I just realized it would look better with a dark green border around it. I also enlarged it to fit the page better.Related content

Thank you so much. That means a lot to me. I drew this when I was on vacation at the beach and I was sitting on a second floor porch over looking the water. My Sister and Brother-In-Law own the original drawing I did to thank them for all they do for me. They only saw the dragons finished and had no idea what the background would be. I'm sure everyone that saw it thought the background would have to be pretty plain. Boy did they get just the opposite. I really enjoyed drawing it and it was one of the last things I was ever able to draw due to severe RA in my hands and everywhere else. I'm very glad I was able to do it and I'm very happy you like it. It's made my day.

I can barely hold a colored pencil now, my hands are so bad. It was what I loved to do the most and wanted to be sci-fi, fantasy illustrator. My hands really fell apart when I was in college and doing a lot of pencil drawings. It takes a lot of pressure to blend the pencils and it's very hard on the hands. I have some of my drawings I did in college at the beginning of my gallery. They are REALLY old. I don't know if there is an easy way to get to the first submissions without having to go back page by page. Do you know if there is? I also have a sci-fi landscape I'd love to get a photo of to put on here. It was a present for my Brother-In-Law. I have a drawing I started some time last year that is sitting, partly finished. I wonder if I'll ever get to do it. I also made a bunch of masks that are near the beginning that were hard for me to do, but I'd love to do more of them too, and a bunch of photos. I just got into fractal art because it was easy for me to do. I'm really an illustrator at heart. This makes me long to get my pencils out and get to work on that half finished piece.

i am sad to hear this....tattooing had ruined my hands as well...the vibrations and the weight and the pressing into the hides of others. sometimes my hands wont do what i want them to. i see the difference in the images i used to make and my more recent ones.... now that i am not tattooing as much, my hands are coming back a bit. go slow with it. and i do some stretches. i was gettinc carpal tunnel from tattooing and another artist told me he was helped by working his upper body so the pressure and strength came from the back instead of the wrist.

That's so cool that you are a tattoo artist! I'm sorry about your hands too. I guess the old saying - the suffering artist - really is true. Unfortunately a lot of my finger joints have fused or are completely twisted to the side. I can't close my hands at all. Every finger bends just slightly and all in different directions. Excercise won't help. I really need surgery to fuse the joints in a better way so that they are useable. I have two finger joint replacements and my left wrist is a replacement. I keep doing what I can though. I'm not going to let it stop me from doing what I love. I just have to find different ways of working with my hands. My dream is to have a drawing tablet that I could use with the computer. That would be the best thing I would buy if I won the lottery. I guess I'd have to play to win, wouldn't I? Ha - I can dream can't I? Question - Can you tattoo on yourself and if so, have you? Do you have many tattoos and what are they? I seem to remember seeing pictures of tattoos in a gallery. Was that you? I have a terrible memory. I don't know if I would ever get a tattoo because I get bored easily. I probably wouldn't like it a day later. I don't think I could get one because of my Lupus. Things like that put me into a flare up which is common woth Lupus. I probably would have to get a henna tattoo. I think it would be fun to do.

i t was the deal that you tattooed yourself first before others. at first i thought i would make mistakes and was unsure, but i learned so much from the experience, that i do it periodicly to keep the feeling. tattooing myself has been a very intimate experience. more like drawing on paper. tattooing others is always a collaboration even if they say "do whatever you want"...i still ask them about themselves because realy it isnt about me at all.
i am sorry to hear about your hands! i understand about these things as i have worked with peoiple who have had arthritis. one woman i massaged every day and put her hands into a form to keep them straight. i know some whoi have had success with herbs and acupuncture/ shiatsu. but most people go the western way. im sure you must have explored every avenue. is the problem you are having to do with lupis?

Yep, I did see the 1990 pic but not the other one. I love that other one. The tattoo on your left hip is right up my alley. It's just the kind of design I love. Do you ever get tired of any of them? I'm afraid I would. I don't even like wearing the same clothes two days in a row so I think I would get dreadfully bored with having the same designs on my skin all of the time. Although, I think I kinda wouldn't mind a great dragon tattoo wrapping around my ankle. That for me, would be cool.

i bet it would suit you. you can take original artwork to an artist and tell them how you want it placed.

It's a whole combo of the Lupus, the Rheumatoid Arthritis and the Fibromyalgia. My Chiropracter just started doing therapudic massage on my hands and boy, do I wish I could have her available 24 hours a day. It really feels wonderful and helps. I wish I could try accupuncture but my insurance doesn't cover it and being diasbled I have very little money. I'm going to check out your tattoos, but I'm having deja vous because I really think I've seen them before. If you never put them on before then I'm dreaming!

you can go to an acupuncturist for a consultation and see what the price is. you may even get some herbs from them that would be inexpensive. those herbs all realy taste and smell awfull but i have sworn by them

I'm hoping it will soon be made clear to my insurance that accupuncture can help. I've been dying to try it. I just don't have any money for it at all. They are thinking about it so maybe in the future it will be an option. Thanks for your kind help.

This is fantastic!
It's incredibly intricate in color and detail. Even the background is great! It blends together so well without getting the main subjects lost.
I particularly like the text at the bottom and the inter-twining thing-a-ma-jiggies

Thank you so very much. That really makes me happy. The prismacolor pencils I used are not water soluble but they heve ones that are. I actually have another brand of watercolor pencils and they are fun to work with. I get good blending though with just the regular pencils. It's a technique I've always used.
