Description
This is for my bestest buddy of all my buddies. I suck, and have never drawn her anything, even though I've known her for a while, and I have an original drawing of hers on my wall.You know who you are. I love you to death.

Honestly, you're awesome, just freaking awesome. So many of your picture look so real. You have my deep respect. And I like that you use various colours; I do love bw/sepia drawings but these colourful ones are quite refreshing (and the colours make the drawing look even more real^^).

Oh, I really enjoyed drawing this one, but I remember that I couldn't decide whether to use colour or graphite; because it wasn't that colourful to begin with. But I'm glad I decided to use colour. Even if it's dark, the red, green and blue look pretty cool together.
I agree, I like both monotone drawings and colour drawings, and I can't choose between them. I wish I could say I choose which to use based on how I want the image to feel, but really, I just use coloured pencils for more colourful images, or graphite for smaller images that I couldn't detail so well in colour. I'm happy to use both, though. Like you say, it's refreshing to make a change.

Your drawings look so real! I just looked at another one and I thought it was a photo until now that I saw you submitted this to traditional art. This is sick! Your awesome!

I start by filling in the darker shadows with black pencil, and then go on to the next lightest (which here was just light brown, because in places it'll blend with the black and make a darker brown - which saves time instead of using two different brown pencils) and then a really pale beige, and just fill in some short lines (short 'cause if they went all the way from root to tip, that'd look weird. Real hair overlaps and intertwines, so you don't often see the entire length of the strand). I'm planning on making a tutorial soonish, for drawing hair with colour pencils.

I know everyone else has said it, but I must say it too, AMAZING~ It seriously looks like it was pulled straight from a mag, and the details are so amazing... god looking at this it makes me feel so sloppy with my coloring, hahaha. XD
