VPBA Sniper Rifle — Description

The Valkyrie Arms Precision Bolt Action was originally a civilian firearm developed by Bennings Firearms Group prior to the First Interstellar War. At the outbreak of the war, the fledgling Novus Republic was in need of a domestically produced sniper rifle. To this, Valkyrie Arms stepped up, adapting its existing civilian manufacturing facilities to meet the military's needs.
The VPBA was originally chambered in 8mm Long, same as its civilian predecessor. After the First Interstellar War, new production guns were re-chambered in the domestically developed 8.6x70mm and 7mm Magnum cartridges. Effective range was 1500 and 800 meters respectively, though some in the Novian military claim to have pushed these boundaries.
The rifle was well received, serving in both Interstellar Wars. The modularity of the system was also appreciated, with different grip, magazine, handguard, and barrel options readily available. The one downside of the system was its weight, being heavier than many of its competitors.
Demand on the civilian market was also solid. Not only was the VPBA a symbol of Novian independence, but its overall excellent performance was desirable in competition and hunting settings.
