Curran Scorpion — Description

The Scorpion was produced by the Curran Concern for use by their corporate and military troops. The above-pictured version is in the standard grey color, used by the security personnel of Curran.
The submachine gun was chambered in a 4.6mm armor piercing cartridge and featured a 30 round magazine. The weapon utilized a short stroke gas system and had a fire rate of 800 rounds per minute.
The weapon was typically issued with a forward grip and hand stop, given the end of the barrel's close proximity to the user's non-grip hand. The weapon could also be used like a pistol due to its compact size and relatively light weight. The collapsible stock could be removed to further decrease the weapon's overall length and weight. Folding holographic sights were also issued with the weapon.
The Scorpion proved to be excellent in security roles where compact and concealable weapons were preferred. It was also praised for its lack of recoil, being easily controllable when firing in full auto. The weapon saw sales to nearly every world in the Novus Republic, as well as to private parties on the worlds of Dominion and Carmine. A semi-automatic version also saw success on the Novian civilian market, where it was used for sport shooting and small game hunting.
