Rock Wall — Description
Poised on the wall, Amenii steadied herself. Hands grasping the rough plastic nubs that were screwed into the wall. She could feel the rough texture under her fingers, her palms sweaty, she reached behind her to the pouch at her belt and powdered her hands one at a time. The exertion was growing in her arms even though she knew she was supposed to be using her legs. Those were still problematic, though the prosthetics were working well, moving almost naturally, though not quite as good as her real legs would have.
Closing her eyes, she focused on moving her right foot, she could feel the nerve implants sending electrical signals up through her spine, telling her that yes, her toes were touching the next peg. Toes closing around the protrusion, she braced herself and stood. Though the implants were better than the socket she wore before, she could still feel the steady ache in her stumps begin to grow with each step. It was only the third time up, and already she could feel the muscles begin to quake.

Just one more assentation she told herself, looking down at Nera who flashed her a grin and gave her a thumbs up. Returning her nod, Amenii pushed on, determined to master these new legs. Never stop trying, never.
