Please, welcome the newest addition to our little group. Her, name is Night Shade, though I fear I cannot tell you much more at the moment, seeing how I have just been introduced to this one myself.We met while I was meandering around the less known parts of the multiverse. She was in a bit of an unpleasant situation, though after some negotiation, the situation was resolved and seeing how she was in need of a home, I think she will find a place here.

I suspect she has her own corner, as it would be very difficult to draw her into the Zootopia universe.

Oh, that's right.Β I forgot that Amenii and Nera are from the Zootopia universe.Β Be that as it may, Night Shade is a very sweet looking rabbit (Or is she a hare.Β I never can tell the difference.)

Well, that is the primary universe they reside in, they were not born there, but it is their home. 
Rabbit, for sure - she would be very much larger and a bit more fearsome if she were a hare.

Okay.Β I'm writing a story and I have a hare character.Β I use her to explain the differences between rabbits and hares.Β (I got the information from a website and, naturally, had the hare character explain to a human character the differences.)

I never read "Watership Down".Β I've heard of it and I watched the animated movie (a long, LONG time ago).Β In the story that I referenced, I wanted to add a bit of humor, and education, to the story.Β The male protagonist, Michael Thomson, was put into stasis due to a deadly, incurable virus he contracted in the late 21st Century.Β He awakens after a 20K year "nap" and finds himself in a world populated by "anthropomorphic" people and, as a result, he has to learn a lot about the "species" of this new world.Β (I put species in quotes because they are species only because of how they look.Β The truth is they are actually different races of the same species because they can interbreed.)

That sounds like quite the story, one I would enjoy hearing as it brings up several interesting questions: Why did the humans become anthropomorphic animals, was it through evolution, genetic, or breeding? What happened to humanity as a whole? And how do such a diverse population still breed and produce viable offspring?
Stories that provoke these kind of questions are of great interest to me, as it is like reading a mystery novel. Just don't reveal to much to quickly.

Well, to answer your questions as succinctly as possible without giving away the entire plot of the story, the humans didn't become anthropomorphic animals, they created them by splicing human and animal DNA to create the humanimals as I call them.Β The reason for this is because of a virus that was released by an eco-terrorist for the purpose of causing the extinction of the human species.Β As a result of this virus, the humans started a slow decline.Β The death rate exceeded the birth rate by a 0.2% and, by the time that my protagonist awakens, the human population worldwide is less than 50 million.Β Because of the splicing of the human DNA with animal DNA all the humanimals, along with the humans, have 23 pairs of chromosomes within their DNA.Β Consequently, all "species" of humanimals can interbreed with each other along with humans.Β I put the word species in quotes because, although they are technically different species, they are actually different races of the same species, much like the human races.

Very clever, I like this already. I had done something vaguely similar but on a much smaller scale, this was with the original hyena character who made her appearance in the beginning of the gallery:Β Cramps
Do to the resemblance to Nera, so many people make the mistake of thinking they are one and the same.

After looking at the drawing, I can see how people could make the mistake.Β The fact that it's ink instead of color doesn't help.Β (I know.Β You do most of your drawings in ink.)Β But, the character in the "Cramps" drawing is slimmer, lest muscular looking, than Nera, to me anyway.Β LOL.

Very good, most people don't make that distinction, that and Anna, (from Cramps) has a much more humanoid shape to her body, her legs in particular. But, yes, muscles, and body mass are very different from that of Nera's. The mono-color scheme does not help though.

Lol! All I can think of is a chapter from Patrick McManus 'the outdoorsmen who notice things.' -the narrator has terribly sight, so he has an excellent commentary on how to make oneself look like an eagle eyed guru.

He had a column? Wow, All I got to read were his books. I stumbled across the red one, 'The Grasshopper trap.' In a used book store when I was fairly young, it was a worn paper back, and I remember I liked the picture.

No, El-ahrairahΒ is the prince of rabbits, their folk hero of sorts. You're thinking of the Black rabbit of Inle, which is the grim reaper of the rabbits. They're seen as separate characters in the bookΒ but are sort of combined into one character in the movie.Β

I see her a wanderer of the stars, using the mystical writing/markings on her skin to draw the magical dust she needs to traverse in between the planets. A little like The Silver Surfer, she is doomed to perpetually be the gypsy of the universe for if she were to stop traveling, her life would be forfeit since she needs the dust to survive.
