Glory — Description
Blood covered the sand. The stench filled her nostrils causing her nose to itch. She hated that smell, it caused her stomach to twist. Trying to avert her eyes from those she had slayed moments before she looked up to the blur of faces through the haze of dust and sand. The roaring of the crowd was defining in her ears, as Amenii tilted her head back letting the flow of energy roll over her.
Survive another fight, another day.

Eyes closed something soft brushed against her face, cracking lids to peek, a petal. A cherry blossom, pink and fragrant. And another, and another, slowly falling from the sky one by one they rained down around her.

So this was glory?

Closing her eyes she tried not to think about Samuel who had fallen beside her a spear driven through his gut, of Kalvin run down by one of those chariots, how he had always laughed right before each fight, and called her, his little lioness.

Tears welling in her eyes she closed them tight and let her grief roll down her cheeks. Spreading her arms to the sky, she wept. All around her glory rained from above.
