Words Below:

Dylan went to the party at the sorority.  He was in his senior year.  Like most people, he heard the warnings about that place but did not take them too seriously.  Even if he did, it would not have stopped him from going.  Student debt was piling up and his grades were not that good.  He would probably have to repeat a few courses which meant even more student debt in addition to what he already could not afford.  His parents threatened to stop giving him money if his grades did not improve.  If that happened, he had no idea what he would do.  Almost any change, as far as he was concerned would be for the better.

Lucy, in her junior year, was the sorority girl assigned to look after him.  Most of the time they recruited freshman because it required the least amount of change.  This was a special exception.  The girls at the sorority knew Dylan needed help and they were ready for him.

Knowing Dylan should be graduating soon, Lucy invited him to her room and got out an old photo album.  She turned it to a page near the beginning.  The picture was of a toddler who looked sort of like Lucy.  Dylan guessed the toddler was Lucy.  Instead she did something he did not expect.  She pointed to the photo and said, "This is you."  "No it's not!" Dylan cried angrily.  Despite the strong objections, Lucy knew her plan was working.  "I want you to join the sorority," Lucy explained.  "I want you to be here."

Dylan began to cry.  For some reason, he did not think Lucy wanting him to join the sorority was strange at all.  He pointed to the image and said, "This is me."  The world seemed to blur around him.  She tried to recall what she was doing back then but her toddler years were hard to remember,

Diane looked at the next image, pointed to the girl she recognized and said, "This is me."  Image by image, page by page, she kept pointed to the same girl and said, "This is me."  As she did so the memories came to her.  The closer to the present she got, the stronger the memories became.  The last few pages were blank.  Diane realized this was because she was only a freshman.  Those last few pages would be filled with the pictures of her in college.

Lucy happily told her the she had been accepted into the sorority.  The two of them hugged each other.  They looked like sisters already even though they were not away.  Diane put the photo album away and returned to the party.  Lucy took one last look at what used to be her photo album before following her.  Soon she would forget it ever was hers.  Her photo album, the sacrifice she made, was a small price to pay for what she knew would be good memories to come.
