A request from a friend, done on A3. I used a reference.Media:
-Colored pencils

that's a really powerful and dynamic work and you managed to get the anatomy right 
the only thing I would really love to see more is detailed and stronger shadings 
I see a lot of potential and I'm sure your next horse work will be 10 times better

Thank you very much, I'm really glad about your opinion although I don't want you to think I did it just out of my head, I used a reference because I was in a hurry to finish some requests.
Although the next horse I might draw wil probably be from my head since I memorized them by drawing them a few times but still, I've got ways to go to be as good as you described me xD
I agree about the shading, could be stronger, some more contrast in general would be great too. When the time for the next horse comes, I'll be sure to take your advice into account, thank you, I really appreciate it !
Your drawings are better, that's my opinion, your style is great and the horse drawings I saw have all the points you mentioned, they look marvelous

while drawing a horse from reference we easily forget about the basic anatomy and muscle structure because we depend too much on what we see in the photo - that's why I'm even more impressed that you managed to get the reference work for your advantage and not the other way around
drawing without reference? you feel that skilled? then give it a shot! what are waiting for?

I'm really glad to hear that from you, especially since you're so much better at drawing horses than me!
As for drawing without a reference, I've probably been too cocky, maybe I could when I still had it fresh in my memory, but now... I don't know what would come out haha xD
And sadly I've got so many other things on the list and nothing seems to be horse-related x.x
I hope there'll be a chance again..

frankly speaking I don't remember when was the last time I drew horses without reference... ah! now I remember! it that was before I discovered that references exist
aww.. take your time - horses are such wonderful creatures that for sure the time will come that they will catch your attention again

Good job! I love the movement of the horse, and the shadow on the halter! I think you could put a bit more muscular definition into him, though, particularly on the legs. Some definition in the tail and mane would help, too; right now it looks kind of frizzy. Keep drawing!
